I'm not sure I'd recognize you without the Caution tape.

Funny story: the first night following Sasquatch when I actually felt well enough to go out and grab drinks ended with me once more wrapped up in caution tape and riding my bike through downtown screaming.

Soundgarden was so fucking good. I'm surprised that Chris Cornell's voice is still just as strong as it was all those years ago.

Back when you were 5.
And I was 11.

That wasn't meant to be a dig, more of an acknowledgment of your coolness.
So, it looks like I might actually get to see that Amon Tobin ISAM show in SF Oct. 1. Anyone else seeing him?

Fuck. I wish.
I am going to see eels next Wednesday -- which would be almost as exciting if my fucking dad weren't going with me.

If those dates weren't so sudden and during the week I would snatch up tickets ASAAAAAAP. Very sad I can't make it down for those.
While I doubt they will match the quality of "Wincing..." with this next album, I'm excited to hear what Ron Lewis will add to the mix. I hope they let his musicianship shine a bit because he comes up with the most brilliant melodies and has an amazing falsetto voice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll use him for backup vocals.

Just scored my tickets to the Portland show! So excited. It's at the Doug Fir Lounge, a small intimate venue that I have heard only great things about from HG, Stormy, and many other people.

I'm excited to hear what Ron Lewis will add to the mix. Lewis isn't on the newly-announced live roster. I wonder if that means he's not appearing on the new album.

Really?? Ughhh that would be the worst. He quit Grand Archives to join The Shins so it would totally blow if all of that was for nothing.

looks like I missed out on the Portland tickets. Eugene ones are still available but that's a long ways to go...

looks like I missed out on the Portland tickets. Eugene ones are still available but that's a long ways to go... For those not familiar with Portland, the venue the Shins are playing at is capacity 350 (some say up to 400). They would have easily sold out a venue five times that size. We'll all be close enough to photo Mercer's nostril hair.

I'm actually a fairly big fan of WOW Hall as well but the 4 hour drive from Olympia to Eugene just isn't worth it to me this time

The only band I recall playing four nights in a row at the Crystal Ballroom is Modest Mouse. I saw the Shins last time through town, but I thought it was a part of a very small tour, or a one off. I think they broke up after that show. I'm going off memory, because I don't feel like using google.

They played 2 nights in a row at the Crystal in 2009.

Looks like the Kanye/Jay-Z date in Tacoma was canceled; most of the other dates on the tour were re-scheduled but that one wasn't.
