Just snagged a ticket for Paul Oakenfold on Saturday. HOLY SHIT. This will be my first Seattle show as a Seattleite! Being able to bus/taxi(/potentially drunk-walk) to and from music venues for the first time in my life is going to be a fucking game changer. I'm so happy I finally live here. Hell yeah dude, that is awesome. Now I can bug you whenever I'm going to a show and drag you along

Just snagged a ticket for Paul Oakenfold on Saturday. I've always wanted to see Oakenfold. I wanted to catch that, but too damn broke to do much. Looks like Foundation is starting a new series that is catering to "real" house/tech house, and has booked Sasha and Sneak so far. I'm hoping to see more of that. Gotta get up there for a good Foundation show. Is the vibe alright? Always have to wonder how douchey some of those clubs are.

Oakenfold is awesome. The first EDM show I ever saw was him and Paul Van Dyk. Definitley changed my mind about electronic music and made me fall in love with the genre.
Speaking of which, I'm going to see MOTHER FUCKING PRYDZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The layout of the venue is terrible and the crowds are usually douchey as can be. That said, they do land some pretty great artists so I try to set the negatives aside when I attend shows there.

Pretty good sound and lighting too I hear.

I'll give you one hint: Hee hee hee EDIT: How come a newb can make their spotify playlist all big 'n' shit and I still can't make a goddamn link look like a link? Fine, here's a better hint:

My mom got me tickets to some shows for Christmas, so now I have a few on the roster this year:
John Butler Trio - Feb. 15th at the Commodore We Are Scientists - May 2nd at Electric Owl Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - June 30th at the Orpheum
If anyone's interested in being my plus one for John Butler or We Are Scientists, let me know. So, anyone else get tickets or the like this Christmas?

So there is apparently a band named "AFRAID OF F IGS" which is playing a farewell show at Neumos in March. I kind of want to go without ever having heard them.

I just found out that Sandrider is playing at The Palomino in Calgary on Saturday night!! For only $10. It's a dingy basement bar and great spot for metal bands.

Does anybody have a lead on tickets to Volcano Choir at Wonder Ballroom in Portland on Thursday, January 23? I was foolish, thought they'd still be available close to the show (I should have realized Justin Vernon is more popular), and haven't bought tickets yet.

Isn't that place pretty small? They played a 10,000 person venue last time they came through Vancouver.
