Yukon Blonde puts on a really good show. I saw them about a month ago in Kelowna opening for We Are The City in the back of some small church multiporpoise room. It was a weird setting, but Yukon Blonde blew it up. Definitely see them if you have a chance.
The National were great tonight. In particular, the all acoustic closing number Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks. No microphones, just a couple acoustic guitars, a quiet trumpet, a tambourine and all of them singing. Really really gorgeous.
Also.. fuck me the Orpheum is a great little venue.
Double fuck me: Wye Oak cancelled and Local Natives started at 7. We got there at 8. ugh.

Man they used to be so good but every new record is just exponentially more boring.
Well, the good news is that apparently they're playing a lot of earlier stuff this time around since they aren't supporting a new album necessarily (or so I was told by the person who went to the show I was too sick to go to a few weeks ago).
But yeah, I would go to that show if not just for this:
I do agree though. I am indifferent to Toothbrush since it just sounds like they were still trying to figure themselves out with that one, but then my favorite to least favorite pretty much goes chronologically, favorite being Easy Beat, least favorite being Shame Shame.

The Avicii show in Calgary got moved to a much bigger venue (Big 4, same venue Bassnectar just sold out). Its a good move, but tickets are still hella expensive. They're releasing the next batch on Saturday. I still think I'm going to pass, but lord am I tempted.
