True, the math holds up. And I don't even care about everyone in the party paying for camping because that is how it works at most festivals. But we paid $185 knowing the full lineup, not just one band. That's a pretty big deal to a lot of people, especially people not from the Pacific Northwest. Didn't we also pay $185 when we only new Pavement was playing, too though? GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!!!

If it's like last year, the early bird price will remain the same until February 9th, two days after the full line-up is announced. I imagine with this price jump that early-bird tickets won't sell out sooner then that...So I wouldn't worry about waiting until then.

Riiight. For some reason I was thinking that the price would change when the full lineup was announced, in which case the pricing situation would not be comparable to last years. But yeah, it's definitely the same proportionally. Still a lot of cheddah though

You paid $185 for one less day + let's say $25 each for camping if you had a car of 4.... that's $70/day This year is 4 days and let's take the average which is $290... that's $72.50/day. I guarantee you it's not going to be a full day on Friday like it is on Saturday or Sunday (Monday isn’t even really a full day). It’s a Friday “Event,” so there will probably only be a few bands playing. You can’t really divide the total cost by the number of days - it’s misleading.

I have a feeling though that the bands on Friday will be "bigger" than the rest of the days though so that the price evens out. That's the way it works with most festivals.

I have a feeling that Sasquatch 2011 is going to again be one of the best weekends of my life and the fucking people that come back to these boards and the facebook page year after year and bitch and moan nonstop as if Sasquatch personally owes them something should just put a bullet in their brain.

Who's bitching and moaning? I merely pointed out that not every day should not have an equal valuation.

We're testing your fortitude, junta. Word to the wise: if you see any hooks around here, do not bite them or you WILL be reeled in.

The ticket was still the same price as the other 2 days.

I'm thinking that later packages will allow us to buy tickets without paying for camping. Barring that, fuck it, I'll buy tickets for individual days.

I advise against that. Last year I bought one three-day pass and then bought another set of tickets one at a time a couple weeks apart. Service charges for the three-day pass included the full amount of a standard ticket from Ticketmaster x3, and then the service charges for the individual tickets were the same as the three day pass. I ended up paying almost eighty dollars in service charges for six tickets. Better to pay for camping and not use it at that point.

Thought I'd throw this up here (it's from the TicketBastard site):
"This year your Sasquatch Festival ticket is an all inclusive ticket. No fees are added on top (except for special delivery choices), ticket holders will have access to general camping and parking with no additional cost. However there will be an extra charge should you wish to upgrade to Premier Camping or VIP Parking. If you purchase the 4 day festival ticket, you will receive just one ticket that will be good for all 4 days. Keep your ticket in a safe place, tickets cannot be replaced. Remember to take your ticket with you to the Festival; if you forget or lose your tickets the Gorge Box Office will not be able to reissue tickets. When you arrive at the venue 4-day ticketholders will be required to exchange their ticket for a 4-day wristband Wristbands are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be replaced. They cannot be removed and must be worn all four days to allow entry. Do not remove, stretch or tamper with your wristband in any way or you will not be allowed entry."
Wristbands, finally! No more worrying about losing your other day passes or having them stolen. No more bringing the wrong one with you to the entry gate! Also, if they're high enough quality we can totally wear them for years and years until one wrist becomes so much heavier than the other that we develop back problems! YES!

It is unfortunate that they changed the ticketing options this year - not everyone wants to camp (tailgate) in the Gorge parking lot. I have camped across the river for years - where there are free showers, bathrooms, trees, fire pits, BBQs and you get the same amount of space that they cram 6 cars into at the Gorge.
Has anyone heard if they will be offering non-camping ticket options sometime in 2011?
