I didnt think I would even care, but I LOVED Franti/Spearhead in 08. I'll take them at Squatch as often as I can get them. In 2008, when he started pounding his guitar on the high hat near the end of the show, I was wanting to hug the people around me. He was moved to the back stage in 2007 because of the wind, and actually closed the night, since the Beastie Boys ended before he was done. The masses of people leaving the main stage, only to find more music near the exit was a very memorable experience. With that said, I found his local show pretty boring. That show in '07 was unforgettable. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love watching my favorite bands close the seconds stage. At the time I was really into Michael Franti and Spearhead, so when I learned that they had been moved to the side stage I was thrilled. It meant I would miss the Beasties, but I had already seen their instrumental set as well as Mix Master Mike that weekend so I wasn't as concerned. Now, in hindsight considering MCA's illness and my waning enthusiasm for MF+SH I'd make a different decision, but at the time I had no regrets whatsoever. A friend of mine tagged along with us and kept complaining about how much he hated reggae, but as soon as they get into their first song he was bopping up and down with the rest of us. Franti can put on a show like no other, and you just can't help but feel the love he emanates.

Someone mentioned the Stooges in the wish list thread which reminded me that Iggy and co are headlining Evolution Weekender (http://www.evolutionfestival.co.uk/), which is happening the same weekend as Sasquatch in England. Two Door Cinema Club and Caribou are also playing.

Is it safe to rule out bands playing at Mountain Jam in New York on the 7th?

No. First of all, that festival is a week after Sasquatch. Second, it's in New York.
Last year saw bands appearing at Primavera AND Sasquatch.

Michael Franti is a pretty energetic and fun concert to see. His new album is pretty lame though. He lost a lot of his creativity and has nothing new to say on the new album. It is like he pumped out an album as quickly as possible so he could keep riding the "Say Hey, I love you" train.

Jens Lekman is a blast live. He's so charismatic. I was backstage when he was at the Pitchfork festival, and I fell in love with a girl from his band. She was so beautiful in a white dress with a red scarf. I worked up the courage to say hi to her, and right as I did Devendra Banhart came up behind her and hugged her and I slinked away.

Cut copy looks unlikely with an April date in seattle. Damn but i guess it could still happen.

That sucks! I was really looking forward to seeing them! I guess this doesn't completely count them out as you were saying, but definitely discourages me a bit. Hopefully they aren't affected by the radius clause.

I guess we can take false hope in the fact that they're playing the Showbox which is where the other bands that have played before the fest along with Sasquatch.

I messages them and they said afraid not. If only they could have seen an X-ray of my crushed heart when I read those words. Travesty is the only thing I can think.
