Yeah, I guess that backdrop was good for acoustics reasons, but damn, it killed the view.

I'd say that this hurts our chances www.nme.com/news/radiohead/53832 "Greenwood wrote that they had not considered any new live plans yet. "…Nor have we yet considered any touring," he outlined. "The plan is to have no plan until the record is finished." I think that the general concencious is that the headliners have been booked already isn't it?

#1 - on topic when radiohead dropped in rainbows in 07, it was abrupt, but we kinda knew they were writing for a while. radiohead headlined festivals in 08.
we know radiohead is writing their new album since their trip to LA back before the summer. radiohead could have easily been booked for the show if we are assuming they are already booked.
#2 - going back to the off topic cymbals eat guitars are incredible. the sasquatch show had some new songs, end of a long tour, and 0 crowd energy (i tried all i could). but the other 2 times i saw them, one last month in philly, were great. talked to joseph after and they are taking a year to a year and a half off to relax and write and take it from there. they were spent from touring.
but as for the pitchfork hype statement that i agree with... phantogram blows. so does sleigh bells, and cults are boring too. i was at CMJ and i saw baths a bunch of times and HOLY SHIT. he has a little more credibility after being invited to spin with flylo and stuff, but he is the quintessential bedroom composer and definitely a major exception to the rule.

1. There have been many great acts playing before 3pm at Sasquatch 2. Crowd did suck for Cymbals Eat Guitars. Pete, PTM played after Mumfords, followed by Edward Sharpe, so CEG didn't get screwed in that sense. Plus, Mumfords didn't become GIGANTIC until after Sasquatch, so even PTM didn't get screwed. 3. I cringe every time I hear, "too big for Sasquatch." That is absolutely the worst statement taken as fact I recollect from this board, and it happens every year. Festivals make a lot of money outside of ticket sales. A festival can easily pay a band more than they would make doing a single show (and selling out), if they are willing to. Festivals also allow exposure to fans who might not give a shit about your music prior to the festival, and that goes for headliners as well. 4. When I don't feel like spending time tying together my thoughts cohesively, I number them. 5. Hello funnygrrl. 6. Thom Yorke played Coachella last year, so saying Radiohead is more likely to play Coachella because they haven't been there since 2004 is something I don't agree with. Say Coachella is a bigger festival and will gain more revenue in landing them, that I will agree with. 7. I wouldn't believe any misquoted or contradicted statements by Radiohead saying they will or will not be touring seven months from now. 8. I don't think the Sasquatch 2011 headliners are confirmed.

Sleigh Bells are all sorts of awesome. I bought a ticket to the Black Keys next month, who I have zero interest in seeing live again, just because Sleigh Bells are opening.

Sleigh Bells instantly went from being 2010's biggest buzz band to 2010's most hated band because of their overnight success. I'm pretty tired of the CD (probably because I listened to it 50 times in a row) but I really wanna see them bad!

Welllllllllllll, now that the Foo Fighters are playing I think Radiohead is highly unlikely.

Why?
I mean, they're not going to be there but one doesn't really have anything to do with the other.

Guessing they probably blew there load money-wise on Foo Fighters. But to be honest, I don't really see Foo being that expensive.

Ya, I would agree lumpy. Radiohead, Daft Punk et al. would most likely sell out the gorge on their own. I don't feel like Foo Fighters could do that these days...

Sersiously guys. If Foo Fighters is the biggest name on the bill we've got bigger things to worry about than not having Radiohead again.

Why? I mean, they're not going to be there but one doesn't really have anything to do with the other. Yeah I was just assuming they cost a crap-ton of money to book, but based on what some other people said, maybe they don't cost a lot. Maybe they are like the Pavement of 2011 assuming everything in 2011 is bigger scale (bigger throwback rock band shows, more days, etc.)

It really feels like you guys aren't trying sometimes:
FOO FIGHTERS 300K+ No college dates at this time more info (from the link i posted on page 2)
aka the foo fighters probably cost the same as all three headliners from last year combined. It probably won't effect much though because I imagine Friday with be a short day so they can spend a ton of money on the headliner and only book 4-5 other bands.
