***remember this is not another wishlist thread - there's already like 4 others devoted to that ***
the purpose of this one is to guess who you think will ACTUALLY be at Sasquatch next year.

I actually think The Thermals stand a decent chance. Along with Cut Copy and The Black Keys.

***remember this is not another wishlist thread - there's already like 4 others devoted to that *** the purpose of this one is to guess who you think will ACTUALLY be at Sasquatch next year. I think every single one of those bands is highly likely to play. many are northwest bands that are overdue for a sassie appearence. all or most have new material. why not?

I would love to see DJ Shadow play a late night set! But no Jack Johnson, please no..... Yeah, just saw shadow live from the shadowsphere. He was recording a new album, but has taken a break to tour and," get inspired." he said he'd be making his return to the studio sometime next spring. Maybe he'll squeeze us in before hand... because that would amazing.

1. I would be surprised if the Thermals ever play Sasquatch. Too punk. 2. Those who continue to use out of spite are similar to those who wear a fanny pack because it is convenient. 3. This contest needs rules, bad. Since JustinW owns the first post, you now own the rules. This would be my free advice, you get what you pay for. 3a. Set a limit of bands you predict (I can pick 458 bands, and beat one who picks 12) 3b. Set a date when the contest ends (a month before the lineup is announced would be about right, since we're talking about it now, and all the confirmations rolling in a month prior to the lineup will dilute the actual predictions. 3c. Everyone can delete their initial guesses, or edit them up until the deadline. 3d. is pretty cool, so I hear. 3f. Possibly a point scale, three for the ten bands you are most certain will attend, two for the next ten, and one for the next ten? Might be too complicated though. 4. Have fun.

wa wa we wa. king in the castle king in the castle.
uhhh. well i think those rules look pretty good. very nice outline. I'm just going to say 50 bands max. and yeah being able to change them would be good, considering I feel pretty stupid picking the marleys. blah blah blah

1. I would be surprised if the Thermals ever play Sasquatch. Too punk. Despite the fact that The Thermals haven't been "punk" for about 4 years, Sasquatch had Cymbals Eat Guitars, Japandroids, and No Age last year, Gaslight, Murder City Devils, and Gogol Bordello in 09. While not all punk bands, all of them are more abrasive and punkish than what the thermals are now.

Also Mars Volta... While not a punk band, they really really suck.

Also Mars Volta... While not a punk band, they really really suck. this is laughable. but i admit, they have some shitty shows. however, if the volta grabs deantoni parks it would be worth it just to see him drum. this is an omar work in progress and the drumming should make you wet.

If I had to choose which genre they belong in, I would say Post-Punk. I wouldn't apply the punk label to any of the other bands you mentioned, outside of Gogol, who are 90% Gypsy, and festival whores. Punk to me has as much to do with the style of the lead singer as the style of the backing band. Difference of opinion. Hutch & Kathy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Thermals "Satan, make me a star..." Are you saying you just like their old stuff better? I mean, it's always basically been Hutch & Kathy. Or are you saying their new drummer sucks?
