Wonk left downtown Seattle and visited a neighborhood to see Mutoid Man, Helms Alee and He Whose Ox Is Gored. All I have to say about that show is HOLY SHIT MUTOID MAN. They ripped Neumos a new one. Fantastic show! You make it sound like Capitol Hill is so far removed from "downtown Seattle." My hotel is right in the middle of downtown, and that part of Capitol Hill is less than a mile away. It's a longer walk to Safeco, and it's a longer walk to the Space Needle. You had to even clarify I wasn't downtown. It wasn't like I went away from this place I despise so much, I walked a couple blocks up the street. But yes, killer show. One of my favorites of the year.

Lady Gaga officially beat out Weird Al for the title of greatest musical production I've ever witnessed. In-fucking-credible. Mind-blown.gif

Thee Oh Sees fucked me up last night. "To weird to live, to weird to DIE" Same. Probably because I was inside the drums.

If St. Vincent doesn’t sub Sasquatch this year it’s a fucking crime. I’ve never seen a one person show with more command over the energy of the crowd. My only wish would have been to hear “Your Lips Are Red.”

We saw QOTSA on Thursday in Seattle and 2018 has a hell of a lot to live up to. That show blew me away. I wasn't sure how the sales would go but the place was packed. They played over two hours and something like 20 songs. "Sick Sick Sick" and "Little Sister" were my favs of the night. SO DAMN GOOD!

They are just such a good goddamn live band. I had such a sore neck from thrashing.

I wish the crowd would have been better for their last Sasquatch set. Josh Homme is one of the few true rock stars of this generation.

I love how all of their setlists are different, and according to setlist.fm sometimes they don't exactly stick to the printed one. I am also super jealous that the Seattle show got Millionaire.

I'm not sure where my buddy saw it but I guess they cut 3 songs out of their set too. That was my first show of the year. I am craving more live music in a bad way now.

I am craving more live music in a bad way now. According to setlist.fm for Key Arena show: "Note: 'Tangled Up in Plaid' was on the setlist before 'No One Knows'. 'Head Like a Haunted House' & 'Burn the Witch' were on the setlist before 'A Song For the Dead'." (20 songs total) Eugene: "Note: 'Misfit Love', 'Tangled up in Plaid', 'A Song for the Deaf', 'Un-Reborn Again' & 'Head Like a Haunted House' were on the setlist, but not played. 'Make It Wit Chu' and 'Sick, Sick, Sick' were played instead." (19 songs total) Portland: "Note: 'I Sat by the Ocean', 'I Never Came', 'Sick, Sick, Sick', 'You Can't Quit Me Baby', 'Do It Again' and 'Head Like a Haunted House' were on the printed setlist, but not played. 'Domesticated Animals' was not on the printed setlist." (18 songs total) The only stop this year that doesn't have a comment like that was the Vancouver show, where they played 22 songs. Maybe because Josh was pretty high at our show he decided to not call any audibles during the set.

Just saw Hannibal Buress at a small club in Seattle, but the important part is that Tony Trimm opened with a montage of Jeff Goldblum in The Fly set to Stay Fly by 3 6 Mafia

This scared me because I was planning to see them in Seattle next month and I thought I missed them. that's rad they came to Bellingham though. Haha! That would have scared me too. They were sooooo good. Also, the new project from Josh Holland (Earth Years) was dope. It was heavy and at times abrasive/anxiety inducing like Dog Shredder but way more groovin'. It scratched an itch that The Mars Volta could only scratch for me. Absolutely blown away and can't wait to see what comes from them in the future. Helms Alee was great as usual and Whores. were killer. Great night of music!

Unknown Mortal Orchestra was great last night. I couldn't make out the vocals over the keyboard half the time. The set list was perfect and they crushed it.

Smerz and Mount Kimbie both had awesome sets at Neumos last night. Very good energy for a Wednesday night show.
