Oh what I would do if they were coming to sasquatch...
So this summer four of my fellow music lovers and myself road tripped from the Olympic Peninsula to Hollywood just to see Empire of the Sun live. Needless to say, it was the best moment of my life. They sounded amazing, looked amazing, and played better than I could have ever imagined. We were all in the front on the rail, and Luke Steele smashed his guitar and it flew into the crowd and we got the body of the guitar. No words could explain how awesome this moment was.
Now Luke Steele says he is working on the new album, hopefully it will release sometime early next year.
I heard a lot of empire of the sun throughout the campsites last year at sasquatch, and I hope to everything I will be hearing them inside the venue this upcoming year.
I think that they would fit very well into the happy sasquatch vibe. I know I am dreaming, but being realistic I think it could ACTUALLY happen as well. What do you guys think?

Nick didn't even play with Luke this summer. It would be sweet if nick started collaborating with luke again but it doesn't matter either way. EOTS is "the good" one way or the other.

1. I own their album 2. I've gotten really, really, sick of that album. 3. I would still love to see them live. 4. I'm drinking the world's most perfectly made white russian.

EOTS --> EITS --> RATM --> COTC (the movie)
That would be an awesome lineup for the day.

How much will he pay for a brand new guitar? One which he'll ruthlessly smash at the end of another show?
And how long will the workers keep building him new ones?
(You were right; that made me cringe. PLUS Rainn Wilson? Ugh.)

This thread has Rainn Wilson, Cake, and Explosions in the Sky. If I had mod powers, I'd close it now for completeness.

They are playing at coachella, likelihood of them playing at sasquatch has increased.

Unless they plan on doing some USA shows in between Coachella and Sasquatch I don't see them traveling here from Aussie to play Coachella, fly home, and then fly right back a month later just for Sasquatch.

Also, dumbmau5, you've got it all backwardsy: a band playing at Coachella DECREASES the likelihood of them being at Sasquatch.
Is this the only band you care about seeing there? I'm pretty sure you can pay like eleven dollars to see them in a bar without leaving town.

I'm pretty sure you can pay like eleven dollars to see them in a bar without leaving town. For the upper tier, I agree the chances decrease if a band is at Coachella. For the lower level acts, it would increase their chances, that fictional phrase "festival circuit." Empire of the Sun is pretty much in between the upper and lower levels. My guess, them being on US soil this spring would increase their Sasquatch potential. Also, I'm pretty sure an Empire of the Sun is fairly rare in the US.
