I just pre-ordered one of these fuckers:
Complete, expanded score recordings of every Burton/Elfman collaboration from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure through Alice in Wonderland. Re-mastered by Elfman, with original artwork by Burton. All manner of cool extras and trinkets, with 250-page hardbound liner notes.
Even though everything after Mars Attacks! ranges from forgettable to dismal, this was worth every penny of the $500 price tag. I seriously can not fucking wait for this to get here.

Production ran long on the box, so because it wasn't sent out in time for Christmas, WB put together this additional 17th bonus disc and sent it out to people who were intended to receive the set as a gift:
The remasters sound just fucking incredible. I'm as familiar with Elfman's film music as I am with my own heartbeat, especially the stuff from 85-96 or so, and as a result even the tiniest improvement to the sound is major to my ears. And the improvements to these recording, as evidenced by this disc, are MASSIVE.
And yeah, that's signed by the elf man himself -- a treasure that all my years of autograph hounding could never produce.

Even though my reply to Gramms three months ago was a bit of a joke, from what I can tell, two of Gramms favorite things are corn chips and turning people on to new music, the belt sander being evident by his Record a day column. Who knows if he would actually burn me a cd, but I know for sure he wants me (and everyone else here) to listen to it.

And actually, I recall he offered to mail people mix tapes, so it isn't the file sharing he is so concerned about, it's the mindless downloading of "free" music. I think he is more concerned with the impending death of Conor Oberst.

Just had a conversation with a customer service rep over at Warner Bros. records, who quoted me the ship date for this set as being 4/5/11. It's been postponed almost half a dozen times at this point, but I think it's about to finally drop. We'll see... CAN'T. WAIT.
