I really want to go to Sasquatch, but I live in Arizona, and I don't know if my car can make it all the way there. Coachella is a lot closer but it's not as laid back as Sasquatch and that's what I want. So, is there anyone with any kind of advice, or someone to help me with my Coachella vs. Sasquatch! debate so I can make my mind up?

Sasquatch > Coachella.
Simple math.
Google pictures of the Gorge Amphitheater at sunset if you have any other questions.

i'm sure you could probably find a good price for a flight from arizona to seattle (probably much cheaper than all the gas to get from AZ to WA), then check this board when time gets closer and there's a lot of people on here that carpool form seattle to the gorge. that's what i've done the past two years (coming from south carolina)

Oh yeah, right. I forget that not everyone is as pathetic of a hardcore pavement fan as me.

I priced gas and got an estimate of $200 and then did plane tickets that are priced at $300 per person.. I'll have to keep a look out for cheaper flights. I'm sure there is some.

Use Allegiant Airlines. They only fly into/out of Eugene but their flights are incredibly cheap. For example, I flew from Eugene to Oakland - round trip - and it cost me about $120. They're the definition of 'no frills', but if you can scare up a ride from Eugene to Squatch it is definitely your cheapest option. I'm sure there are[/i] some.

Yeah, I feel like you could get cheaper. I got round-trip from South Carolina for less than $300 (though I guess there's a possibility that AZ could be the same way)

So, is there anyone with any kind of advice, or someone to help me with my Coachella vs. Sasquatch! debate so I can make my mind up? Sasquatch: Fewer people, better setting, not the fucking desert, not crawling with shitty celebrities and TMZ material, NOT THE GOD DAMN DESERT, most beautiful venue you'll see outside of Red Rocks, me Coachella: the fucking desert

Normally pretty soon after the lineup announcement thanks to pre-sales and such.

Don't let them fool you. The Gorge is technically in a desert. Temps have been in the upper 90's, maybe even 100, during the festival in the past. That being said, it is still a far cry from southern California and I MUCH prefer what we have going on in eastern Washington. I've never been to Coachella so I can't do a proper comparison, but enough friends have told me about it that I definitely feel Sasquatch >> Coachella. When do the tickets go on sale? Last year tickets went on sale super early in November, way before the lineup was announced. That's when I, and I assume a lot of other die hards on this message board, bought tickets. They then went off sale again until after the lineup was announced in late February. The price was the same in November as it was in February, but a week before the festival it jumped up by $10 a day. I hope they do the same pre-sale again next month!

Sasquatch is as much a "gorge" experience as it is the festival experience for me. I have to make at least one pilgrimage out there each year so I really don't care how much I like or dislike the lineup. Everyone who bitched about this year's lineup missed out of one of the most exciting weekends ever. The performances topped '09 by a longshot (IIIIIIIIMMMMMMOOOOOOO)
