Ahem, two minutes Stamper? You only gave me two minutes to beat you to this reply. We need to instigate some sort of Drew bashing rules. Give me a couple hours at least?
I'm going to jump in here regardless of how much shit I am going to receive but I really don't understand why there is so much hatred for Ben Harper. I personally don't listen to his stuff all that much, and I can see why you don't want him at Sasquatch because he has been there too many times, but he is actually a very talented musician. The guy can rock a Weissenborn.

Switch I've noticed you have a really difficult time distinguishing between 'talented' and 'good'.
You know who's talented? Lindsey Buckingham. You know who sucks? Fleetwood Mac.
You can't go wrong with Booker T on the violin, one of the greatest drummers in the world, and let's not forget the soulful squeals of LeRoi on sax...R.I.P

No, dude, I know: they're otherworldly musicians, just unbelievably talented. Under the Table and Dreaming has massive emotional significance for me and Crash is a great album; I'd say "Two Step" is one of the ten best singles of the 90's.
But that's two albums versus ten more that are just so, so bad. Let's not forget that DMB's critical respect once matched their popularity, but it isn't just tastes and styles changing over the years that cause everyone to regard them as douchey music for douchebags -- as talented as they still may be, they really really suck now.

Dave is the first to admit that they put out a few really bad albums. I think their newest one is actually really decent compared to Stand Up(that album should be publicly burned) and Everyday. The death of LeRoi really sparked some new energy into their music.
and I'm not a Dave Matthews hater, either. But it's true. Their music has gone downhill. way way way downhill. Before These Crowded Streets was barely Okay. And everything after has been really terrible.
As for Ben Harper? I don't dislike him either, but I've seen him one or two times too many.
