Are you talking about Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King? Switch, look at the title of that album and tell me how you think it might be to your advantage to bring it up in a debate with me.
And I've heard it -- in fact, I HAVE it -- and I can confidently say that the title is not the worst part about that record by a long shot.

Oh yeah... There's about half a good record somewhere in Before These Crowded Streets.

I'll spare him and tell you how: He is the most myopic fanboy on this board. Anytime I start to think "Am I getting a little ridiculous about Modest Mouse?" I just look at Switch's posts.

Re: Ben Harper
Innocent Criminals > any other iteration of Ben Harper, especially Relentless 7 IMO

Oh I definitely know this. I'll leave it at that because in reality, in fact I am the most myopic fanboy on this board, but I'm safe from scrutiny because nobody here will ever take the time to listen to more than four or five Residents albums at the most. So I'll never have to defend their American Composer Series for being an intentional joke.

There are like three Ben Harper songs I would want to hear and beyond that I think it would be fantastically boring.

Big Whiskey and The GrooGrux King. I actually love that album title. It speaks to Dave's personality and probably what influenced him the most while making the album:
Big whiskey- Dave is a big time alcoholic and whiskey drinker.
GrooGrux King- Grux was LeRoi Moore's nickname, the album was dedicated to him
Lying in the Hands of God, Spaceman, Squirm, and Time bomb are all great songs in my opinion. I especially love Dave's ferocity on Time bomb. Another reason that I love Dave...his personality is similar to mine. "If I'm a ticking time bomb waiting to blow my top, no one would ever know, not until I blew up" He is screaming out in this album and I love it.

Hey I explained why didn't I? At least I back-up my fanboy outbursts with explanations.

I never would have guessed that the title was actually referring to the fact that Dave Matthews is an alcoholic. Honestly: never.

Tech N9ne at Sasquatch? It could be possible. Big name independent rapper. I just saw he just added a show at the Knitting Factory Spokane on the 30th even though his labels tour is there a month earlier. I noticed other Sasquatch bands are at the Knitting Factory venues in the area as well. Just a thought. Oh yeah Ghostland Observatory is in Missoula the week before, but I think they are already booked for shows around that time.

Saturday could really use something lively like this. Otherwise I'll be watching a bunch of "quiet" bands with Starbucks coffee in hand.
