I had to take a trip down memory lane with I'm Not Afraid of You And I Will Beat Your Ass. That album was on heavy rotation when I first bought it, but I hadn't heard it in over a year. I love how it starts and ends with a 10+ minute kick-ass jam, with a whole mess of different stuff in between. Good call on them being a Sasquatch possibility. I've been searching through my brain looking for their recent U.S. Festival appearances, but I'm having a tough time finding anything. I think they played Coachella recently? Maybe they don't like festivals? I think they played pitchfork last summer but they aren't really a festival band

I'd like to see Janelle Monae, but I get the feeling they would give her an early afternoon time slots.

*slot (damn my torrible proofreading)
If they put Janelle on the Wookie stage with a more favorable time slot, I think she would win over nearly anyone within hearing distance. I just hate when people I would really enjoy seeing fall into time slots that interfere with my recovery from the day prior.
If they're looking to book some independent hip-hop artists with great live shows, I think the Cunninlynguists would be a good fit. The northwest seems to support them more than any other region in the U.S. and I know their following in Canada is pretty solid as well. Just not sure if they're a big enough draw for Sasquatch to book 'em.

I saw YLT at Pitchfork in...2006 maybe? 2005? The first time they played at that fest. It was a good set. But they've toured a lot since then, I'd dig seeing them again. Black Flowers is such a gorgeous track.
And I've never listened to Janelle Monae, is she good?

Janelle Monae is the shit. She could have the xx slot before sunset on the wookie. Simply beautiful.

The Knife's Windish page says they are taking bookings for 2011 and are open to ideas. Here's an idea: Perform late night at SASQUATCH!!!

The Knife on the Sasquatch lineup would make me happier than any other single act (including Radiohead and Pulp). However, they have been listed as available for upcoming shows on Windish for a couple years now, yet no US festival has landed them.

Except for when Fever Ray was touring last year, it said they were unavailable for 2010, so maybe they have big plans for this year. I just wish they didn't play like four places when they come to the US and do a full tour. Their music is out of this world.

Mister Heavenly was awesome by the way. Michael Cera was pretty good on bass too. I ended up meeting him after the show which was awesome. Also Pepper Rabbit was also amazing. Passion Pit was pretty good too. I wasn't super impressed by Mister Heavenly. Seeing Michael Cera was awesome, and he was just as awkward as I would have expected (especially when the strap to his bass came off), but I didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would. As for Pepper Rabbit, I didn't like their first song (something about red wine) but I liked the rest of their set. I thought We Barbarians were better than the other openers, to be honest. And yes, Passion Pit was pretty good too. Being in the balcony ended up being great for the light show, not so great for the dancing. Edit: Whoops, looks like you saw them in Portland? I didn't catch that. I was at their show in Seattle on the 30th. So I guess some things could've been different.

Picked up Cee Lo's new album today and I'm absolutely loving it. Would anyone else be excited to see him on the bill?

Picked up Cee Lo's new album today and I'm absolutely loving it. Would anyone else be excited to see him on the bill? One of my favorite releases of the year. I was pleased to discover that he was able to put together an album so different from his previous two, but still bring something to the table that is both cohesive and varied. I've given it multiple listens and really only find myself skipping "Fuck You" every once in awhile . Very happy to see him getting some well deserved praise outside of being "that Gnarls Barkley guy". I am definitely in favor of having him on the bill this year. If they manage to book both him and Janelle Monae, that'd be worth one day's ticket for me. Did you happen to get it at Best Buy? If not, make sure you check out "Grand Canyon". I can't believe that song only made the album as a bonus track.

Nope, the Best Buy I checked for it at was sold out so I got it elsewhere. I'll definitely track that song down!
Honestly, I can see myself starting to skip over "Fuck You" after a few more listens also. The word fuck just doesn't fit well in that style of song, which sucks because the tune is sooo good otherwise!
