Yeah I'm really pulling for a portishead headlining set.
Great list andimac, most of them are unrealistic but it's nice to have it in a list I guess
but yeah cut copy isn't headlining

"Thanks everyone for posting your ipod artists list." Mine isn't from my iPod, you might have noticed is wasn't alphabetized! But yeah, most of the artists I'd like to see this year *are* on my iPod, after all! Let's see, this is the "wish list" thread, right? Agreed, Cut Copy isn't quite headliner material. Hadn't considered Portishead, that would be pretty nice. I won't be hoping for White Stripes or anything Jack-related, because I am apparently one of the 1% who don't like them! LOL... But if they are there, I will go see them just because.

But... I WAS!! LOL!
Speaking of people who were born out of Satan's ass, is there any chance Brian Jonestown Massacre would ever play a festival? Have they played festivals in the past? I'd love to see them, especially if they did the material from their last two CDs.

I wish the power of the Sasquatch could bring back Death From Above 1979 and The Unicorns, but I know it just can't happen.

Maybe an Islands set, though? They're a pretty good live band when Nick D. isn't bitching out too hard.
When I saw Islands at the Hawthorne Theater, the sound was so bad he stormed off stage and the band vamped the opening of 'Whalebone' for like ten minutes before he got his shit together. I can't say I blame him, the sound at the Hawthorne is only marginally better than listening through a tin can with a string attached to it. But come on.

Whatever we can get. I can't stand the guy but I love his music.
The Human Highway record is probably my favorite thing he's done.

Why is it that every time I go there they always have technical problems. ALWAYS. Well I think I might have seen one or two shows were there weren't but most of the time there are.

Is somebody going to one of Mister Heavenly's west coast shows? I have no recordings to go off of, so if someone goes and comes back with a report of the show, I'll give you a pass that lets you say whatever idiotic things you want without HG or I8 giving you shit for a full day (This may or may not be true)

Will you come back with a report of the show (mostly, what the music was like) please? That would be fantastic as I'm a big fan of all 3 bands represented and love the idea that there is a super group like this.

I can't say I blame him, the sound at the Hawthorne is only marginally better than listening through a tin can with a string attached to it. But come on. The sound is just one shitty thing about that crap venue. 1. They only have two toilets in one bathroom, which looks like a one person bathroom. If people in line don't chant, "two at a time," whenever it opens the wait is typically 5-10 minutes. The worst part is there used to be a public restroom to the right of the stage, which is no longer public. 2. They cut the venue in half for 21+ and under 21, but instead of doing it lengthwise, the under 21 is the front half, the over 21 is the back half. With the typical crowd being more than half over 21, this leaves a giant mess of a crowd in the back of the venue, and makes getting to the end of the line at the far corner bar nearly impossible. 3. It gets really hot in there with a packed house. 4. It is one of the least convenient venues to get to (public) transportation wise, unless you live next door. I do like how they check for knives and guns upon entry though. It makes me feel safe when I'm seeing the Liars. Is somebody going to one of Mister Heavenly's west coast shows? I have no recordings to go off of, so if someone goes and comes back with a report of the show, I'll give you a pass that lets you say whatever idiotic things you want without HG or I8 giving you shit for a full day (This may or may not be true) I might go if I can find a ticket way below face. The show isn't sold out, and there are a bunch of people selling on craigslist. If I can get a ticket for under $20 tomorrow night, I'll go just for the opener.

It gets really hot in there with a packed house. I've never had a problem with it being hot. The Roseland on the other hand is ALWAYS a fucking furnace. Maybe they make it so damn hot so more people will buy water or something but I don't understand why it needs to be so hot in there all the time. But yeah the Hawthorne sucks. The only positive thing I can think of about the Hawthorne is that I usually always end up meeting some of the bands after the shows. Which is something I've never been able to do at bigger venues.
