Actually, I could see that being super likely.

Franz Ferdinand are finishing up their new album soon, and are looking to start going on the road soon www.nme.com/news/franz-ferdinand/53976But maybe this is just wishful thinking. Also, The Antlers would be pretty cool.

I am really crossing my fingers for Ghostland Observatory. I think a late night performance from them, and I dont care at all where they perform, would be absolutely insane!

For some reason it took me a long time to get into Ghostland, but I completely agree. They put on such a stellar show and those lasers are just out of this world. Definitely hoping for a late night set!!

Worst guess ever for a band to come? Take That? =P Who knows, 10 year anniversary, Sasquatch may be amazing to us.
Would also LOVE to see Jenny & Johnny and Wild Nothing there..

I love how Ghostland sticks to their rock roots while still holding onto the electronic genre and blending them so well.

Thanks everyone for posting your ipod artists list.
Geno - do you have a sinking feeling that they won't? Because I do and it worries me.

Why are you worried?!?!?! Arcade Fire seem like a likely choice for headliners this year. It is an interesting year for headliners. Ashley Capps who helps manage Bonnaroo said that this was a year in which there is no shortage of headliners, unlike last year. So lets take a look:
Active Headliners in 2011 Portishead (Album 2011; Headlining Benicassim & ATP while supposedly not touring until the fall in the US) The Strokes (Album 2011; Headlining Benicassim) Beastie Boys (Album 2011; Big comeback after MCA cancer scare) Arcade Fire (Tour for Suburbs; Supposedly headlining Coachella) Belle and Sebastian (Tour for Write About Love; Headlining Primavera) Kanye West (Tour for MBDTF) Coldplay (Album 2011; Headlining Rock am Ring & Rock im Park) REM (Album 2011)
Semi-Plausible Headliners Radiohead (Album and Tour 2011) The White Stripes (Album 2011?!; Tour?!) Daft Punk (Touring?!?! We know no Tron tour) Soundgarden (Touring?! Played Conan but little is known) Pearl Jam (Anniversary year; Recently stated live that they wouldn't be seen for a very long time) The Flaming Lips (Playing Primavera) Bjork (Album 2011?!) Beck (Album 2011?!) Pulp (Tour 2011; Headlining Primavera)

I also could see Cut Copy headlining. Who knows, they are very popular right now and will be so even more after their new album. Sasquatch likes to go out on a limb and give individuals/bands the chance to headline for the first time in the US.

I said that about Ween, Ben Harper, KoL, and a lot of other bands that have headlined before. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they headlined.

Cut Copy's not even close to close. I don't know if they'd be sub-headline material. Sasquatch might be known for non-trad headliners, but Cut Copy won't sell any tickets on their own, unlike FF.
Not a comment on quality, just business.
I'm worried because every festival in the nation thinks AF is going to headline for them. Sasquatch has an advantage because of Canadian roots, but Coachella thinks it has an advantage because they had their "breakout" performance there.
I'm not saying they can't do more than one or two or three, but they can't do them all, and Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lolla have more money than Sasquatch.
But you're right that there are a whole lot of really good bands that could headline. I think B&S, Strokes, REM or Beasties are big possibilities - but I won't stop hoping for White Stripes, Radiohead (not damn likely, I know). Modest Mouse wouldn't surprise/disappoint me either.
I'm glad we have the boring headliner out of the way, here's to hoping the next three will be better.
