I hate it when people dismiss a band because they had too much radio play or because the type of music they made goes out of fashion. And I hate it when people disregard a band's great period because they start to suck down the line. That happened to Guster; that happened to Barenaked Ladies, most notoriously that happened to Dave Matthews Band.
You know who has, like, a dozen INCREDIBLE records? Fucking Chumbawamba. Go ahead and roll your eyes - if you're 95% of the country, all you know is Tubthumping. You wouldn't know that they're viciously political pure-blooded anarchists who had an unstoppable run of great albums from 1994-2004.
As long as you're doing something interesting, then I'm interested. It might not scan that way, but I'm not a music snob. I just know what I hate.

Death Cab, they're kinda post-dub grime with more guitars aren't they? Much delayed A+

Anyway I read three pages of this thread and decided to skip ahead to now.
Someone mentioned the Black Keys and I already did in the other thread. Yes.
Mark this post, posters: If we don't see Stars this year, it's only because Amy Millan is still on maternity leave. There is no other reason. I am completely banking on Stars.
I will back the Deer Tick prediction.
And I'll hold off on any others until we see who gets big/who resurfaces/who reunites/who announces tours in the next three months.

highly educated? mmm... Jay Z and Daft punk would be nice.. I am a firm believer that they will be doing it big this year for the 10th anniversary.

I know they were at Sasquatch in '09 and they'll be in Seattle on March 8th and their tour is schedule to end on April 2nd, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if Crystal Castles return, especially since they're supporting a new album. pitchfork.com/news/40472-crystal-castles-set-spring-tour/

The Seattle radius clause should exclude the Crystal Castles.

I think this holds some serious water for the Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining next year. The article says they hope to drop thier new album in March and that they've already booked festival appearences. Edit: forgot the link www.nme.com/news/red-hot-chili-peppers/53465

^ Probably Coachella and/or Bonaroo. I don't really see them as a fit here.

^ Probably Coachella and/or Bonaroo. I don't really see them as a fit here. I agree Coachella or Roo makes sense (since you have to think those first, they are the big 2), but I miss your point on them not being a sasquatch "fit". I think they are right on the Sasquatch mold. Furthermore this festival has become so diverse it would take a Garth motherfucking Brooks not to fit.

Red Hot Chili Peppers would be really great, and I think a lot of people would dig it if they were there. I would.

Well, I meant they would probably do one of the three, and sasquatch is the least likely. But I'm not sure they fit in with the trending headliners.

They better have a damn good undercard (which I guess is pretty easy for Sasquatch) if that's to happen.
