I'm not too proud to say that Deadmau5' set last year wasn't one of the most mindblowing things I've ever seen, but it had very little to do with him. Since then I more than get my fill of the guy from the constant barrage of pictures of his cat on Facebutt.

I said NEW EDM is growing exponentially. EDM today is completely different than back in the 90's. Artists are taking a totally different approach to it and diving into more of a mainstream audience with high production sets because thats how they make their money (live performances). Now, I'm not saying thats necessarily a bad thing, but with more EDM in the mainstream spotlight, it changes the core audience and therefore your going to have a lot more people wanting artists like Deadmau5 who still have yet to see his live performance.

His live sets are way more for show production than the music will ever be...

But then again that is exactly what your paying to see at a Deadmau5 show, imo. Your not really going to sing along with Ghosts 'n' Stuff because the lyrics changed your life, your going so you can watch an insane "visual" performance.

I don't think I've ever heard someone say that a GWAR album has changed their life, but they continue to draw thousands of fans to their shows year after year because it's such an over-the-top performance that is entertaining as fuck. In that same sense deadmau5 is accomplishing the exact same thing, and I'm sure he'll be the first one to admit that it's a gimmick...and a great one at that. Tiesto may still be the biggest EDM producer on earth but I guarantee you if you put a picture his face next to a picture of a deadmau5 head a lot more people will recognize the belt sander. I'll sure as hell keep seeing him every chance I get because there is absolutely no way I won't have a great time seeing him.

Mmm. Ghosts 'n' Stuff. Pound for pound, that was the best ten minutes of Sasquatch '10.

Yeah pretty much. I conspired for weeks to be as absolutely wild-eyed as possible by the time he took the stage. IT WORKED.

Was there anyone sober at deadmau5's set last year? Cause both times I have seen him, my brain was on hyperdrive. His live shows are full of "dude........best day ever!" moments.

I was. I'll give it to the guy, it was a nice way to cap off that day. After seeing the string of Broken Social Scene/National/Vampire Weekend/My Morning Jacket I was in a good enough mood, and the lights were cool.
He doesn't really do much for me musically, but I like him for the same reason I like fireworks on 4th of July.
