Just Confirmed The Arcade Fire @ KeyArena Sunday, September 26th woo! saw Arcade Fire on Sunday at Lollapalooza and again last night in Atlanta. Both shows were ridiculous! I'd love for them to headline Sasquatch next year. Yeah I saw them at Lollapalooza too. I was in the front, fucking incredible! I left a sweaty mess! I hope they play next year, I also saw them in 2007 at Sasquatch and they just go hand in hand with the gorge. Also, I would be the happiest boy in the world if we got Empire of the Sun next year. They also killed it and it was their first show in NA.

Regarding Arcade Fire... Mostly I just don't like their music. I hate the affected vocal thing. Dude sounds like Conor Oberst. I don't have a problem with mainstream appeal (unless it compromises what makes a band great -- which is why I cited of Montreal and the Decemberists). There's never a moment where I don't know exactly where the song is going. As a reference point, I feel the same way about Bruce Springsteen. Completely uninteresting to my ears. One of the reasons I like Funeral so much is because half of the songs turn into a different song near the 3:30 mark (give or take). I can see how you can say you know where a song is going with many bands, but with that comment, I'm beginning to think you've never listened to Funeral. I know you have though, so that's me discretely saying your comment is challenged mentally. 'Theatrics' and 'stage antics' = pretentious bullshit. So you like dead fish? Just Confirmed The Arcade Fire @ KeyArena Sunday, September 26th woo! Not that anyone doesn't know this yet, but the Stranger was off by a couple days. It's Wednesday, September 29th, in Seattle, and the next day in Portland.

I'm retarded for not liking 'Funeral'. You're retarded for NOT not liking 'Funeral'. What the fuck ever dudes. How about this: I don't like it because it is boring, the instrumentation is flat, the lyrics are juvenile, the vocals are fucking god awful and - worst - the whole thing is specifically designed to be emotionally manipulative. Can we please get over it.

I could care less if people like or dislike Funeral, Arcade Fire is a polarizing band. When you stated the above quoted text, Funeral was one of the first albums I thought of as being exactly opposite of your "I know exactly where each song is going" comment.
Settle down dude, it's just the internet. We are allowed to disagree. Will someone please give this guy a hug?
And I never said "retarded." That wouldn't be very PC.

After having Chromeo blow my mind this past week, I vote for a full set from them in 2011. Especially with their new album coming out next month. As long as it isn't another DJ set.

^^ I can understand that. I still love the first half of the album enough that it compensates for the second half (the weird/creepy part of the album). The live show was just very fun though and pretty mesmerizing. Unlike anything I have ever seen really.

That Empire of the Sun garbage is for people who got all pissed about 'Congratulations' being all differenty and just wanted to listen to 'Time to Pretend' and 'Kids' all day. If that guy pretends any harder that he is Wayne Coyne then he couldn't because he is already dressed and groomed and behaving exactly like Wayne Coyne. They're the Owl City of lame Hippie Lite bands.

I guess I can understand your opinion, but fuck that show was like nothing I have ever seen. The music is a bit different live, it's a lot harder. And I like their music. They would be a great late night show next year.

^^ 'nuff said.
I would like to add Edward Sharp into this same Hippie Lite "genre". I am very sure if you haven't seen a good/real psych show before this could very well all be appealing to some people. But i liken it to those that fell for Jet and their "rad garage sound", not so - they were about as garage as Matchbox Twenty, and to anyone with respect for the genre they were just a glaring reminder of how people are manipulated in being told they are cool if they identify with this "crazy stuff" and are then sure to buy all the reqired clothing, merch and products with their lame shit attached to it.
Also to add: "Quadruple Fail" - That's like four times as big of a burn yo!!! harsh, so quadruple harsh in fact!

So with that sort of theory I should have stayed away from The Tallest Man On Earth because he is nothing more than a rip off of Bob Dylan. If you want to see a real folk set then Bob Dylan is it......is that how things are? Some people enjoy music that you might be above, deal with it.
