Don't know much about Primus and Tool, but I do know that Tool headlined Bonnaroo 07. That's 80,000 people. Primus would probably play late night or a side stage at Bonnaroo. In fact they probably have before. I definitely believe Primus could headline Monday at Sasquatch. If Ween can, Primus can. Just probably won't happen on the 10th anniversary blowout that will be next year.

I could see it happening at Sasquatch. I don't know how big the draw would be for the performance, but it certainly could happen.

For the sake of discussion -- and please, make disparaging comments about as many of these as you like -- here are some of the bands I'd like to see at Sasquatch 2011. Bear in Heaven Sleigh Bells Black Dice Cake The Books Clem Snide Fiery Furnaces Das Racist Fuck Buttons Major Lazer Menomena Philistines, Jr. The Morning Benders Snowglobe Mice Parade DOOM Alexis Gideon i agree a few of those groups will be there for sure.. if by doom you mean mf doom.. i sure hope they wouldn't be dumb enough to book him

I really want to see DOOM. I had tickets for the cancelled DangerDoom tour several years ago, and I haven't had an opportunity to see him since. I don't know what to make of all the 'fake DOOM' rumors, but having DOOM at Squatch would save me the risk of having to buy tickets to see him somewhere else.

i'm a big fan of doom.. but he notoriously cancels/doesn't show up/sends an imposter/lip syncs/raps over vocal tracks/etc. it's not even worth buying tickets to see him if he's performing in your town, let alone booking him for a high profile festival
just be happy listening to the records i say..

Yeah I know all that stuff. It's kind of fascinating, and the part of me that is a huge Residents fan (pretty much all of me) feels like it's all a carefully calculated aspect of his act.

I'd be willing to bet you don't know who 1/4 of those bands are. you'd lose that bet. but nice try. I don't believe you. But nice try.

Hey, I saw Arcade Fire tonight. They are too big for Sasquatch. In NYC terms:
My Morning Jacket - Five nights at Terminal 5 (Capacity 3000) this October Massive Attack - Played Terminal 5 before Sasquatch, is playing Beacon Theater (Cap. ~2800) later this year Ween - Played Starland Ballroom (Cap. listed at ~2200 but I've been there and that's a bit of a reach) before Sasquatch LCD Soundsystem - Four-night stay at Terminal 5 on same tour that brought them to 'squatch
Arcade Fire - Just sold out Madison Square Garden. Cap. 19000.

First, I totally agree with those saying Arcade Fire are too big for Sasquatch and will be in way to big of a demand next summer. Second, while REM and The Cure are very respectable and established acts (I saw the Cure twice that tour cuz I personally love them) they were not even coming close to selling out the large venues (both shows were reduced to half bowls). Arcade Fire are in the thick of their hugeness and could probably (on a proper and marketed tour, what I'm saying is this current one is more like "warm up") sell out 20 000-25 000 + venues in many markets and even easily do 1 or 2 gigantic outdoor shows with only them on the bill. Never mind the UK and Europe, where they could headline every major festival as well.

Also Terminal 5 shows are not the best barometer to judge popularity as they range from an appropriate venue for artists to play at to (and often) hyped up parties that can sell out a band/dj who would typically be reaching way over it's head in a venue that size. Finally it also regularly hosts bands who are way or somewhat bigger than the venue but are putting on special intimate shows for the fans (MMJ, LCD).
But being from Jersey and all I can see how the sheer briliiance of a venue like this can rattle obviouse common sense.

Arcade Fire - Just sold out Madison Square Garden. Cap. 19000. didn't MMJ do the exact same thing for new years last year? Arcade fire will clearly hit seattle at some point over the next year, i'm not sure they would sell out the key arena (for various reasons, one being the key arena sucks and everyone knows it) and the paramount seems way too small for them.

Arcade Fire = All we will be hearing on the radio for the next 7 years... Same way Nirvana plays on the end every hour. In case those of you haven't noticed... EVERY single video on YT with ads ( now 40% more videos have ads in the past 8 days) 90% (literal figure) has the 'Arcade Fire Unstaged' Presented by VISA & VEVO... That is Tens of MILLIONS of people listening to AF's new songs & watching them LIVE online tonight for this big VISA thing... They are going to be the equivalent to Radiohead in the next couple weeks as far as drawing crowds go.
Who wants to fight about it?
