JUST KIDDING there's nobody in my basement and I didn't harm the lying woman from work. Thought I should say that before Friendly shows up at my house.

I did a quick google to read festival reports to try and be reminded of why the kanye debacle is such a big fucking deal and still have no idea. The set was supposed to start at 3 in the morning and didn't start till 5...I'm a serious Kanye fanboy but I would have given up way before that jesus. I'm not saying kanye wasn't a dick for doing that but wtf is wrong with you that you wait until 5 in the morning for a performer and then hold a grudge about it for 3 years. It seems like your own damn fault for staying up until 5 in the morning
but more importantly it's one fucking show! get over it

His set got moved back to 3am, this info was posted on the website two days before Bonnaroo. He was an hour late to get on, but Pearl Jam also played an hour later so if you were expecting things to run on time, your fault. Also the main satge has a 90 000 capacity, go see some Sigur Ros, some Lupe, some Chromeo, or some mother fuckin' Phil Lesh then check in with Kanye, at 3:30am you will be really close! The Sigur Ros set was amazing that year!

The Sigur Ros set was amazing that year! That (er This?) Tent was a lantern filled spacecraft by the end of thier set. Also Kanye was on before 5am because I had left Phil Lesh around 4:30am and by the time I was up to the What Stage he was already going. AND IT WAS AWESOME!

The Sigur Ros set was amazing that year! That (er This?) Tent was a lantern filled spacecraft by the end of thier set. I'm pretty sure it was the 'That Tent'... the one closest to the Ferris Wheel.

Those "CRAZY" tents. Did you catch BSS on Sunday? That shit was insane! My 2nd favorite time seeing them (out of probably too many times). ibi Dreams of Pavement, ya know?

I'm moving this to the Kanye thread just in case in turns into a huge Kanye discussion in the Now Playing thread. Always. Love that Yeezy. I wish I could have a conversation with that guy. I'm not star struck, so I can't say I want to meet him, but getting drunk with him would be pretty interesting. Knowy, I want you to know that despite being a long time Kanye hater I've been slowly working my way through his discography. I think I'm at the point now where assuming there aren't any major conflicts I will definitely catch his set at Coachella. Ripping the Pofo scoring scale, this would be my scores for his five albums, if it helps lead you to the goods. I'm sure he'll play most of his new stuff though. 9.6 The College Dropout 9.5 Late Registration 9.1 My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy 8.4 Graduation 3.7 808s & Heartbreak

Cool, thanks man. I've got Graduation (mainly for Stronger...go figure) and MBDTF so far. Looks like College Dropout is next.

Funny story (to me) about listening to Kanye today. As good as Late Registration is, the highlight of the album is Jay-Z rapping on the Remix of "Diamonds From Sierra Leone." I've always found it interesting that Kanye would allow Jay-Z's domination to be the highlight of the album, since Kanye is known as an extreme egotist. When listening to Graduation today, I caught a line I hadn't recognized before on the song "Big Brother," which is basically an ode to Jay-Z. "On that Diamond Remix, I swore I'd spazz Then my big brother came through and kicked my ass" See, Kanye is not that full of himself. Here's Jay's domination: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do3iJ6DWvpQ

Ughhh that's a really good song. I was just trying to be nice by giving him a chance. I didn't think I would actually enjoy his shit.

glad you're enjoying his stuff Pea. I'm sure I've said this in here before but I fucking love 808's. I understand why a lot of people hate it but I think it's a stellar electro-pop album. Not that this is much of a selling point but shit like drake wouldn't exist without it

Based on what I've heard about 808's I think I might actually enjoy it! Will check it out for sure.

I am beyond excited for his Coachella set. I think he is absolutely going to knock this out of the park.
Saw him on the Glow in the Dark Tour and was totally blown away. I'm anticipating him using this Coachella show to launch an even bigger tour. Can't wait to see what he has up his sleeve.

I am not a fangirl for sure, I am more of a casual fan of his. But he seems really self aware and weird and I think it would be really interesting to just like, hang out and have lunch and some beers or whatever.

Somebody should grab his mic in the middle of his performance and say:
"Ima let you finish, but you had the biggest ego of ALL TIME!! Of ALL TIME!"

Ok, I'm officially a fan. The College Dropout is straight up phenomenal. I love taking an interest in an artist that already has a plethora of material for me to check out. I'll be immersed in his discography for quite some time.
