Did anyone happen to catch Why? during the weekend? I neglected to watch them, album is pretty interesting and they are playing in my city at the end of the month. Are they worth paying money for to see live?

Though my friend may be biased as I think she was already super excited to see them anyway, she sad WHY? was one of the best sets of the weekend (I missed the set as well, as I had a great spot for the National.), so based on that opinion alone, I'd say they're worth the money.

Why? is incredible live. I saw the National instead at Squatch, but I saw Why? several months ago and yes, it is one of the best shows I've ever seen. 'Alopecia' is a perfect record.

Awesome! Thanks for the insight. They are playing with Fucked Up, Ted Leo and the Phamacists, Built To Spill, The Thermals and Girl Talk! Should be a great night.

That's 'The Vowels pt. 2', abc. It's the first track on 'Alopecia' which, as I have said, is a perfect record.

Sled Island in Alberta. Theres a thread about it here ya newbs. now, Did they play 21st Century Pop Song? Thanks Sword!!! Yeah it's a sweet fest that's fashioned after SXSW...good time indeed! Having spent all of my money at Sasquatch I decided to only attend the mainstage this year but if you ever get the chance you should attend the festival as a whole. Great city, great venues, great bands. This festival is a chance to see great bands in the most intimate settings possible. Pubs and clubs that hold maybe 200 people at the most! The main site is at Olympic Plaza which in the middle of downtown...beautiful! Anyways...that's enough of me hyping my hometown! I'm pretty excited for that night since I was hoping/expecting for almost all of those bands to play Sasquatch prior to the line-up announcement. Now I get to see them all in one night!

They started very late. I showed up a bit late, then watch them do a 15 minute sound check. That's fine, since they were the closers for the stage, and you could hear Miike Snow like you were standing at the Bigfoot stage, but I had to leave after four songs to go see the Very Best.
I will say they showed enough live that I'm looking forward to seeing them again, and I'm relatively unbiased with this band.

definitely one of my fave performances of the weekend. they sound great live & yoni is a dancer
almost all of their set was from alopecia. i don't remember their entire setlist.. but i know they played these songs:
- the vowels pt. 2 - these few presidents - the hollows - song of the sad assasin - fatalist palmistry
pretty sure they also did.. - good friday - a sky for shoeing horses under - by torpedo or crohn's
but my memory isn't perfect.

So then, I should definitely make it a point to see them when I go to Pitchfork? Because that means missing part of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and part of Wold Parade, and that's hard.
