OTC just re-united. I am going to be all OVER that shit.
Saw them open for Beck on the Odelay tour, what... Fifteen years ago? Never thought I'd ever get the chance to see them again. That is so fucking exciting!

Fuck. Odelay Beck (which I've found from videos seems to be the best live Beck ever) AND Olivia Tremor Control?
Sometimes I hate myself for not being born 10 years earlier.

Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside and Off! have been added. Both are awesome live. The lineup is still a bit disappointing. I have very little interest in seeing Explosions in the Sky, Band of Horses, or Iron & Wine again, but I guess I'll go.

I sure picked a bad year to convince myself to buy VIP prior to the lineup being announced. In the years past, I've bought the wristband to get me into the shows that won't sell out, and bought a hard ticket to the shows I couldn't miss (that would sell out). I ended up spending less than the cost of the VIP pass, but not by much. Having a ticket that guaranteed me entrance to Major Lazer last year was worth the extra $20, so I could catch Ted Leo at the Crystal Ballroom, and some no name at the Ash Street Saloon, then walk past the huge line of people waiting to get in for Major Lazer. If you aren't interested in the openers, it really is nice to wander around downtown and see other acts instead.
The VIP pass is over $50 more expensive this year though, so I'll have to wait until the schedule comes out to see how much bouncing around I need to do.
Anyone else attending this year? Sounds like Gramma/Stormy are in for at least a day, and Geno goes to every show. Even if I don't do the VIP, I'll be out ever night of the festival. There are enough local acts I would like seeing again.

It's not 100% that I'm going, due to my money problems. I'm gonna try to get a wristband though. I am NOT missing Brand fucking New though. I've been waiting so long to see them.

I'll probably just buy individual tickets for Olivia Tremor Control and the Butthole Surfers, and maybe Sebadoh. That lineup is seriously for shit.

That Brand New show will be free anyway. Seriously? How do you know? Well I can't promise it will be free. The Nike sponsored shows at the Wonder Ballroom have always been free in the past. You can pick up a pass at Jackpot Records. Last year I saw Washed Out, Phantogram, Ra Ra Riot, the Black Lips, and Surfer Blood, all for what would have been free had I not purchased the wristband. The first day of the festival, I showed up early to wait in line, guaranteeing I get in (it's only free to capacity of course), and the staff at the Wonder mistakenly turned away everyone wearing a wrist band. I had to walk downtown to Jackpot records to get the free pass. Luckily, the venue wasn't at capacity when I got back (an hour later).
