I'm also surprised to see people without Tenacious D in their top 5. How was everyone NOT blown away by that set??

I'm never surprised by people's tastes on here anymore. I literally did not see a single minute of the bands in badchoices' top 5.

The D was as awful as I knew they would be. I fucking hate that "band" so much.

Oh I did see Jack Black and some of the band throwing frisbee in the pit at like 11:10am on Monday. We watched him from the hill for like ten minutes before people started to realize who he was and take pictures.

Really sucks that I missed him.

I'm never surprised by people's tastes on here anymore. I literally did not see a single minute of the bands in badchoices' top 5. That is a beautiful thing if we can both love a festival so much and have completely different experiences. Already saving for next year!!! I thought The D was pretty good but only caught 4 songs. I wish I would have been able to see the older songs but I had to get over to Spiritualized. God damn Mogwai!!!

Anybody catch the Deer Tick covers set? I would've like to seen that had I known about it, though I doubt it would've trumped my decision to see Ted Leo.

1. Jack White – It was everything that I had hoped for, and more. The entire band are fucking mental musicians. 2. Bon Iver – I expected it to be good because I like their music. I did not expect it to be as epic as it was. It was the perfect set to sit on the ledge of the hill and have their sound massage my eardrums. 3. The D – So many of my childhood dreams were fulfilled during that set. This includes singing along to Tribute. Closing out with Double Team was amazing too. 4. Explosions in the Sky – I was weary about missing the last half of Girl Talk, but I was quickly consumed by their loud wall of sound. 5. Beardyman – Why didn't this dude headline the nanner shack? Best show I saw in the tent all weekend.
I didn't see a single show I was unimpressed by. Except Pretty Lights. I danced, so it wasn't that bad. I just expected much more based on previous experiences of his shows. He seems to have taken a mainstream approach to his music.
I had plenty of bro-step crammed into my ears in the campgrounds, I did not need to hear more in the venue. Girl Talk or EitS would have made a more suitable headliner for Friday.
I'm still having trouble grasping the sheer amount of amazing music I experienced this past weekend.

I caught the end of Beardyman, and while it wasn't bad, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
I thought he was a comedy act? And I thought he did a lot of beat-boxing looped vocal stuff a la Reggie Watts? Granted I only saw the last 10 minutes, but he was basically just a DJ from what I saw. Was he supposed to be comedy or EDM? He at least succeeded on the latter though. I don't know much about EDM, but he seemed to know what he was doing.

If you caught the last ten minutes, you likely missed the part of his set where he beatboxes and builds his soundscapes. Check this.
Also, I was super pissed to hear the Deer Tick was doing a covers set. I would have killed to see that!

Gotchaaaaaa...
Yeah, I actually saw the end of it after wandering away from Ted Leo as I thought Spiritualized would be then. I caught the "Fight For Your Right" cover, but I already saw 'em play that the day before. That definitely woulda been fun though. I loved Deer Tick.

It seems I end up loving every Deer____ band. Put Deer at the beginning of your name, and I'll probably like you.

It was a total shit show, but it was pretty funny. They played everything from La Bamba to Smells Like Teen Spirit. They were absolutely hammered and were clearly just fucking off the entire time. I enjoyed it the 15 or so minutes I watched.

We ran over for the end of fun. and it was the most disappointing climax. I was looking for FD and he was looking for me and we both realized it was a dream. But then we met at Feist and rawked. I will never forget this moment. Never. It was amazing.

I enjoyed it the 15 or so minutes I watched. I heard Mogwai cancelled, and Spiritualized was playing a full set, but I didn't think Spiritualized would get pushed back and replaced. When Deer Tick started their set, I heard, "Mogwai cancelled, so we're going to play Deer Tick covers." I wasn't even wasted, but I obviously misunderstood them. I wasn't paying attention. I left during the Nirvana cover, and almost missed the beginning of the D.
