Matt and Kim was a blast. I had never heard them before and was sitting eating chicken strips during their set. If it wasn't for the chicken strips I would have been dancing. I only saw some of their set, but what I did see was SO much fun. I loved their interludes. They played some covers that I would have never thought they would do. my group of friends were hanging out in the back dance dance dancing

So I met this girl tonight at Noah and the Whale and she had her Sasquatch wristband on.
I asked her who she saw at Sasquatch and this is what she told me "Well I saw Noah and the Whale (because I LUFF THEM SO MUCH!!!), and that Iron band, Bright Eyes, and well there were so many bands I don't remember anyone else."
I can understand there were a lot of bands but she couldn't even give me a decent list off the top of her head. I later realized why when during N&TW's set she was freaking out over how good looking the band members were. I'm quite positive she just went for them (and probably Bright Eyes).

To be fair, "who did you see," is a mentally taxing (annoying) question. I usually give a similar reply, "I saw a lot of bands, my favorite was ________."

I was really hoping that Yeasayer did suck since I didn't make it to see them and I was relieved to see how few people put them in their top 5. Now that it's passed I don't think I would have traded that Modest Mouse performance for any other I saw over the weekend so no regrets.

They didn't play 2080? What the fuck? "What ya can do" is make time for your best song.

I feel like White Denim is not getting its due. Did anyone see that set? Extremely tight band - as a mediocre guitar player watching their chords progressions, changed time signatures, interplay of the two guitars, and perfect metronomy of the drums, it was awesome to see. They must practice a tonne.
To me it was the best performance of the weekend. Maybe not my favorite performance, but definitely the one where the band got the most out of the constraints of a four piece act.

Pink Martini - The band itself was very good, very tight. The star, however, was clearly Storm Large. She was sexy and baudy and fucking phenomenal. She can go from silly to serious with ease. She was larger than life and was the surprise hit of the weekend.
Robyn - I wanted to run up there and hug her and hang out and be best friends and have dance parties forever with that adorable little swede.
Bassnectar - GLOWPOCALYPSE
Modest Mouse - This set was so good. Isaac has not looked that good or been in as good spirits in as long as I can remember. I was so happy. We stayed for the whole set and I made that decision during the first song.
Black Mountain - I really had no point of reference for this band and they rocked my socks off. They sounded great and I just really had a great time watching that set.
Das Racist was fun and they played "Who's That Brown", Sleigh Bells sounded great and they were fun, Sharon Jones is a goddess, and despite the issues they had the Flaming Lips still sounded great.

Dude fuck yeah Das Racist. Who the fuck said they are terrible live? Oh yeah, it was everyone. Fuck everyone, then. That was the most bangin' Billy Joel cover I ever heard.
Oh yeah, and that's where we ran into B-Rad! Dude's eyes are like four different colors. Just a ridiculously nice guy. He gave me a Canadian cigarette. I smoked it. It was vile, but I loved it.

I waited around for a long time waiting for Das Racist to start, but ditched right before they got on to get in the pit for my first Lips show.

So much of this I joyously laughed at. I think I may have mentioned it before, but you and your wife are fantastic people as well!!! The pictures in the other thread look awesome FYI, the "candy" you distributed came in particularly handy during Ratatat. Unlimited thanks for that. And Belmont's are like euphoric flavour country, not vile
