So at Roo there was a cell phone charging station anyone could use when they run out of juice. With an iPhone and using the Sasquatch ap, well and not to mention texting and taking snaps, I anticipate running out of battery before the end of the day. Is there a cell phone charging station or access to power/plug to charge a phone within the festival grounds?

No charging stations, but I'm sure you could snag a plug in somewhere...

On the green page it says they will have a recharging station in the Honda Hybrid Zone
"Sasquatch! Green is supported by Honda an official eco-partner. And they have some fun in store at the Honda Hybrid Zone, featuring the Honda CR-Z sport hybrid, Civic Hybrid and the Insight. The show will be intense at the Honda Big Foot Solar Stage, so if you need to recharge (your cell phone anyway), stop by the Honda Hybrid Zone"

I charged my phone every day in that little Xbox 360 building with the rock band and such during the day last year, and that worked fine.

You could also invest in a car charger for your phone. There'll be a lot of cars out there. Or, get even fancier and buy a power inverter for a car. I bought one for $15 and it has a regular 3-prong outlet and 2 USB outlets.

Thanks everyone! Most excellent.
Getting my gear ready. Funny how when you drive vs fly somehow you NEED more stuff. Come on. Do I really NEED the inflatable mattress? no. Sigh. I'm excited. I've been to Bonnaroo and Coachella and I'm curious about how the Gorge handles a festival. Thanks again for the info!

I have plenty of charging options for the car but since we are in the festival a good part of the day and there are no ins/outs, if I run out of juice at 4pm, I'll be sad. Not a huge worry but thought I would throw the question out there. Thanks again everyone!

Last year I didn't really have service. I was roaming though and I'm not sure what carrier my phone was trying to pick up. I have read that at&t, verizon, and tmobile are all ok though.
I had to call in sick for one of the days last year too. I had to run around looking for reception, but did manage to make the call.

As knowidyuh suggested in a different thread: borrow someone else's phone to call in sick from. I know it sounds crazy, but Americans can be friendly too. Someone with a reliable network will surely help you play hooky from work. If not on principle then for a beer I'm sure. I would be in the same boat if my boss didn't rock.

Last year one of the carriers (Verizon maybe? I don't know American ones..) had a booth where you could make free North American long distance calls. Called my folks in Toronto. If you got there before the noise from the bands got going you could cal from there?
