so i live right next to a reservation, where you can get cigarettes for really cheap( like 3.50 a pack) . If i bought a carton or two, do you think people would be pretty willing to trade stuff for them/buy them? I know they cost 7 to 8 dollars there, so what do you think?

I was planning on doing that actually. Everyone is always desperate for cigarettes by the end of the weekend; by Monday afternoon if you're smoking a cigarette you can count on people hitting you up to buy one off you. Even the drastically overpriced ones they sell there will be gone.
Suggestion: have a carton of MENTHOLS. Reason: kids on Ecstasy.

Everyone hates menthols, unless they're on ecstasy. Supply and demand, dude. Whatever, there'll be two dudes selling cigarettes and I'll be the one selling them to all the kids on drugs. Anyway Camels are straight nast.

Every year there are people walking around the campground peddling wares such as cigs, so while this is a good idea to make some money don't think you're the only few who thought of it. Also, don't forget all the Canadians coming down from the great while north that have access to duty free cigarettes to then sell on. I'm not a smoker and so I'm not sure how the profit margins compare between buying from duty free vs reservations, but alls I know is when I have looked at the prices when crossing the border I've been amazed. Cheapest were maybe $20 a carton? I donno. I'm definitely grabbing a couple bottles of hard stuff on my way down next week!

My girlfriends and I did this last year. We're Canadian and each bought a carton of CANADIAN cigs. They sold in no time. Canadians generally hate American cigs. So they were in high demand.

Uh huh. See my posts elsewhere about how there were 8,000 empty Canadian cigarette boxes on the ground after last year's festival.

Please don't hate Canadians for this. It was me. All 8000.

Yeah, actually I made that guess too. I did however suppose that the one Canadian responsible was some binge-drinking Kings of Leon fan who got dosed on Saturday night and spent the next three days trying to understand the significance of the shape of the dance tent.

C'mon now. Let's not bring Kings of Leon into this.

C'mon now. Let's not bring Kings of Leon into this. Indeed. Or into anything, ever again. Starting with Sasquatch!. I hope whoever's idea that was got so fired.

I don't smoke often, but when I do, I prefer Belmont Milds.
I wont be shorting myself this year on smokes...as the poster above said, not a fan of american smokes, and they were not easy to buy last year at the festival...I wouldn;t be surprised if in a couple years they try to make the whole festival non-smoking.
But don't worry folks, I promise not to leave a single cigarette butt (nor empty pack) littered on the ground.
