Is there a place to park a car for the weekend somewhat close to the Gorge for FREE? I'm meeting my friends from Seattle (I'm driving up from Tri-Cities with the camp gear) at the campground, but they'll be driving too. You can only have one car per campsite, so we need to ditch one for the weekend. Anyone know of any good, somewhat safe places to park?

No, there is no other option than buying an extra camping pass. If you show up together, you can camp next to each other, but you will have to pay the extra $100 per car for the camping pass.
The only other option is paying the $250 tow truck fee.

or making friends with people in the lineup who have a camping pass and no car
