I started listening to Mumford & Sons a few years back. In retrospect it was part of a very distinctive phase in my life, and as I grew out of that part of my life, I sort of stopped listening to the music to. They have been an amazing re-discovery and I'm remembering all the reasons I loved their music to begin with. I was wondering what other thoughts there may be on the subject?

While not maybe quite as deep as your thoughts are, I would have to say that they are pretty fantastic. I'd only breifly heard them prior to this festival but I recently picked up the album and it's fantastic. Very much looking forward to their set...should be a nice early afternoon one.

Considering what I saw on one of the late night shows, might have been Craig Ferguson (doesn't matter) they looked incredible live and provided tonnes of emotion.

I wouldn't necessarily say my comment was deep... I felt I needed some fodder to justify the beginning of the thread... I felt like commenting on Mumford & Sons in the Portugal thread wasn't fully appropriate, and Mumford needs their own discussion.
I'm still in love with songs like "Feel the Tide," and "White Blank Pages," and by all the videos I can find, their music doesn't do justice to their energy. It does look to be a good show.

I'm about half through my first listen of the album...and I've already decided that this is going to be my most played CD of the summer.

love how pitchfork gave it a 2.1. i feel like that is SO ridiculous. A 2.1! WHAT THE HELL. That can't even be listen-to-able. How can the new she & him get higher? i officially completely gave up on pitchfork that day for ever.

their reviewing process is so fucking flawed it's unbelievable. great website for information but their reviews for the most part are reprehensible.

Pitchfork isn't much good in terms of reviewing anymore, it's unfortunately been that way for quite some time, but as you say Peatrick, the information is still handy.

Mumford and Sons is looking like a good candidate for "gig of the weekend" for me. I've only gotten into them since I first heard of the band when the line-up was announced, but man they're good!

Yeah much like other bands, I've never had an opportunity to catch them in show around me, so I've been too excited to have an opportunity to see these guys. It's going to be a great show.

I didn't know much about the until the festival. I caught one of their performances on Letterman and it was awesome. Hope you enjoy.
