A good friend of mine ordered one Coachella '12 wristband and got two separate shipments with one wristband. Last year we ordered her Sasquatch wristband to our house, she received two extra at her apartment...
Next year I fully expect her to receive tickets to all of the festivals without placing an order at all.

I ordered the fancy limited edition 2xLP of The Books' Music for a French Elevator a couple weeks ago, and when it arrived and put it on, the entire second side skipped persistently to the point that it was unlistenable. Pretty lame, but I emailed Temporary Residence and told them about it -- they asked me to ship the LP back so that the manufacturer can inspect it and determine if it's just a damaged copy or if it's a problem with the pressing. Pain in my ass, but once I do that they'll send a replacement and also the nice woman at Temporary Residence said that I can pick another LP of equal value from their catalog and they'll send it to me for free. Free LP. That's the awesome part. Anna Paz is one of the coolest people I pretend to know, and is part of the reason why I own most of Temporary Residence's records...except for that one. I've never had this problem from them, aside from a warped Rob Crow 7" of 'True North' which I love to death.

Wait is it still called vacation if I'm not going to a tropical location? "Staycation". Almost as good. Just get really drunk and pretend you're somewhere tropical.

I really wanted to get my sisters and mom scarves from bevshots.com for christmas... they're ridiculously pretty scarves and such a neat idea... but when I went to purchase them online it didn't have a ship to canada option. So I was tres sad.
But then, randomly today, I thought about it... and emailed them asking if they would ship to canada... and they said yes!
Which is even more awesome for me, because i have this really weird unusual christmas present buying anxiety... so this relieves a lot of stress! Bam!

It just occurred to me that this weekend is exactly halfway between Memorial Days. From here on, next Sasquatch is officially closer than the last one.

No smiles for two whole weeks? Well let me tell you about my miles of smiles (Black Dice pun). DFA has a crazy sale going on right now of Black Dice records, including a re-press of their masterpiece debut album, and the classic Miles of Smiles 12". Naturally, I got on that shit immediately, and also ordered Eric Copeland's new solo record and companion 12" single. The records arrived earlier this week, except no single. So I've been e-mailing DFA for 5 days with no response, and today I decide to shoot a message directly to the band, which was replied to within minutes as follows: "Dude, that Sux. I'll get on um. They're rad guys, just going through some shit. Really appreciate you digging bd and especially the kid ( my brother). Don't loose faith! Thanks again. Breakfast burritos at the lodge someday! Holiday wishes" HOW DID HE KNOW ALL I WANT OUT OF LIFE IS TO EAT BREAKFAST BURRITOS AT THE LODGE SOMEDAY WITH BLACK DICE? Seriously, I never mentioned burritos. Miles of smiles right meow.
