Ya me to. I mean I go to Thetis a ton. Gives my sons something fun to do, I'm happy, the dog is happy and you don't have to buy sunscreen in the late summer because by August the film on the lake will coat you You must have tons of sweet spots on the mainland though? ( I think I remember reading that you live in B.C.) I don't take the ferry over often, just for shows and hockey games.

Yeah, but no lakes! I grew up on Saltspring and the lack of lakes is the only thing I don't like about Vic. I used to be able to jump in a lake on my way home everyday, now I gotta drive out for that shit? I can't imagine it in van! I guess you still have wreck beach.

Weenie I lived on Salt Spring for 8 years! LOVE and miss the lakes so much. I don't go back nearly as often as I should.

Wreck is pretty awesome, and we spend a lot of time at the other beaches in the summer too, but yes there is a distinct lack of swimmable lakes near us. I'd rather swim in the ocean to be honest, Thetis is just particularly beautiful.

I really don't remember that name and it seems like a name I would so I'm going to say no. I lived on Roland Road in Fulford for a while and then on Fulford-Ganges road for a bit.

I think we should gather the dogs and find a day when we are free(and our significant others if they are down) and go to a park and shoot the shit for awhile. FOR SURE we know similar people!

Excellent. Tank gets so happy when he meets new dogs! Although I just told him the news and I think he is trying to play it cool right now...

Why I love forums: I joined one for grad students and found two other students that would be in my cohort (which is only 10-12 people) if I go to the school in Montreal - one of which is also from Alberta! So I already get to know my classmates. Neat!

A couple weeks ago I had a fairly wild night out with davers and kymess. When davers and I went to share a cab home at the end of the night I dropped my 2 week old iPhone 5. The next morning I woke up to a very subtle hairline crack in the glass. I was so pissed.
I did some research and found that it costs about $200 to pay some random to fix it, or you can go to the Apple store, pay $229 plus tax and have it replaced under warranty. I decided to go with the latter option and made an appointment today.
I explained to the guy that I'd dropped it, he inspects the phone and says "This looks like a pressure crack, hairline cracks are covered under warranty. Enjoy your new phone." So thanks to that dude, I'm wearing a huge smile today.

So thanks to that dude, I'm wearing a huge smile today. That's awesome. The exact reason I have a piece of shit phone is because I know the second I got an iphone or whatever I would break it, and my girlfriend would chant, "That's why we can't have nice things!!". I was born with butter-finger meet hooks for hands, thanks mom and dad.

I've only ever had exemplary service from Apple, and I've had several phones and a laptop serviced or replaced under warranty over the last few years. Based on the reading I've done it doesn't appear to be a Canadian thing, it's an Apple thing.
You can say what you like about their products, but their service and warranty are second to none in my eyes, and that alone is worth the costs and perceived downfalls associated with the proprietary nature of their operating systems.
That said, based on the information I gave that guy he should have charged me $229 but didn't. So ya, maybe we can chalk that part up to being Canadian, eh?

I've been working with a wide variety of Apple products for the last couple of years, and I will never buy anything from them, except maybe an iPod. Fortunately my Zune has stood the test of time, which has been over 5 years.
