Well, when you show your ID, they put the wristband on for you, so good luck with getting one off your buddy, and on you without it being blatantly obvious that it's been tampered with. I'm sure there are ways, but to be honest, I would just smuggle your booze in instead.

exactly my plan untill I read a previous post on this thread about someone who was caught drinking without the wristband and kicked out on the last night. (guess he only missed Ben Harper but still...got me scared) So that is why I'm inquiring about this wristband.

Dude, just sneak in your own booze and don't be too obvious about drinking it. Don't be too subtle, either, cuz when people do that they aren't actually that subtle.
What I do every year is put gin in a plastic "water bottle" and glue the plastic ring back to the cap so it looks sealed. This is probably more trouble than is necessary since I've never had anyone check the seals on my water bottles, real or not, but at this point it's part of the tradition. Then I bring factory sealed bottles of tonic in, again with no issues. Duty free gin and tonics all weekend!

Uhhhmmmm... you don't. If you decide to buy Sprite or another mixer inside that would work, otherwise you'd have to bring ice in yourself. Doable, but more trouble than it's worth to me. If you ask nicely maybe Adam Snacks will let you borrow his heart.

In regards to the 15$ pay at the door camping, I am arriving Saturday night pretty late (11pm) and must get into the venue.
Are gates open and will somebody be there for us to pay and get in?

They don't take kindly to you grabbing ice out of their giant coolers either. So, you're pretty much stuck mixing vodka and water or paying $5 for a bottle of cold pop. Was this the case last year? Which says to me, "We know people bring in alcohol, but we'll screw with a 500% markup when they need mix" I thought I remembered bringing in coke for mix previously.

I thought I remembered bringing in coke for mix previously. Their written policy has always been (or at least since 2005) that you can't bring in any liquid except "personal size factory sealed water bottles." This means no 4L jugs of water, and no juice or soda of any sort. That being said, the last few years I've brought in tonic water (which as we know is actually soda) and had no problems. I don't even hide it; I just walk in with a liter of it in my hand. I've also seen the bag check people remove juice tetra packs from peoples' bags, make sure they're sealed, and give them back. By this logic Coke should also not be an issue.

i've only been to music festivals where you return to a hotel and/or a home, but not a campsite and need to know: is it usually safe to lock expensive things like laptops in your car during the day? has anyone ever been a victim of theft or known it to happen to others?
a couple people have told me to leave stuff like the laptop behind, but Sasquatch weekend is the beginning of my long trip to the Pac NW (very excited) and I'll need my comp for the remainder.

has anyone ever been a victim of theft or known it to happen to others? I've never had anything stolen nor have I heard from anyone else about thefts, but I imagine it must happen. I always lock valuables in the car along with anything else that is easy enough to throw in there. Even if it is inconvenient for the rest of your trip, don't bring anything with you that would leave you devastated if it were stolen.

What DO you typically leave out? I've heard more than one story about tents blowing away in the day, so should i leave my cooler in there to weight it down? Or is that just inviting someone to jack that/sleeping bags? I guess I should make sure I have tent stakes I bring with me

Stakes, backpack of clothes, cooler, cinder blocks etc.
It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow, so tarp up to your car and make sure the tarp is connected to the tent (or just tie the tent to the car).
This isn't really the place where you'll find a lot of theft - but it can happen. Just leave whatever you feel comfortable with in there. If you don't want to leave anything, then at the very least, tie it to the car.

So, what happens if you get caught trying to smuggle in alcohol? Do you just go back to your campsite, hide it better, and go through a different line? Or do they take it? Or worse, not allow you in at all?
