So I've heard alot of people, both on this board and else where, saying that Passion Pit are atrocious live. I've seen some live videos on YouTube, and it's clear that the lead singer isn't very good live. Do you guys recommend avoiding them, even if I really like both their Ep and Lp?

They are FANTASTIC at a small venue... But at an outdoor area , like sasquatch last year, they aren't quite on par. That was their FIRST outdoor show & have since played multiple other outdoor venues & improved. They definitely deserve another chance & will learn from mistakes.

I've seen them several times and think musically they have grown exponentially over the last year, but the lead singers voice is still so bad that it ruins their live performance for me.

I missed them last year so I'll definitely be checking them out. I fucking love Manners.

Yeah I'll probably end up going to see them, I noticed their no longer conflicting with Japandroids on the new prelim. schedule, s I have no reason to miss it.

Doubt I'll see their set this year unless they're up against bands I actively dislike.
PREDICTION: People yell "SLEEPYHEAD!" throughout the entire set.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. Average headline loving folk hate/dont understand Animal Collective, I can see them hating Passion Pit equally but definitely not greater, they at least play Sleepyhead on pop radio.

I've heard that they have gotten much better live over the course of the last year or so. Basically, at the beginning of the last year of touring they had very little experience. They've been touring extensively though so they had to have gotten better. I'm hoping to hear everything off of the EP, and some songs from the LP.

yeah I'd say overall I enjoyed the EP more as well, but the LP is still good.

Yeah they weren't on par at their first run of the festival circuit last year, but they did well at Monolith in Red Rocks, and after seeing them there, and at a smaller club in Phoenix, I have to believe they've found more of their stride. It was really the "Woodies" performance that makes me think Michael, the lead singer, has got some serious talent. After watching their two/three song set and seeing everyone (from Kanye to Taylor Swift) get into it over the course of those songs was amazing.
