I'm wondering if Runaway is any different than the version of Karamazov that was out a few months ago. They like to change songs almost completely around (see: All The Wine) a few times before actually deciding on a final version.

Last May they played on CBC radio in Canada, and they called they said the track was tentatively called 'Runaway'. Not to sure why it got changed to Karamozov, and then back again.

For anyone looking for another taste of the National, they've recently released a free download of Bloodbuzz Ohio on their upcoming album's website. www.highviolet.com/

every song from the new album can be found on youtube. some of the quality is pretty terrible, but it all sounds good anyway.

I'll just throw it out there that High Violet is fucking phenomenal. agreed, although i don't think it's as good as Boxer, on par with Alligator and one of the best releases of the year so far.

Except that Alligator is much better than Boxer.

High Violet is amazing. It's too early to compare to Alligator or Boxer; I'll need to give myself a few weeks with it.

Boxer has a bigger appeal at first, but i find Alligator better. Im really enjoying this new album, a lot more then i thought i would. I wish they would have given the album a C name to follow the Alligator Boxer C------ theme

I wish they would have given the album a C name to follow the Alligator Boxer C------ theme you do realize that they put out 2 albums before alligator right? Two albums that still sit in the upper echelon of National music for me... Do y'all selves a favor and check out Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, if you haven't already... Cardinal Song is one of the core reasons I've loved this band for so long.

Sad Songs is amazing (Cardinal Song, Fashion Coat, Lucky You are all A+). Cherry Tree has a few gems as well. In my opinion Alligator has the most range, and is the most complete. Boxer is the most accessible. I've been streaming the album on the nytimes site, and am going to try to hold off till May 11 so I can avoid the low quality files. This is one of the few bands that I have no issue paying for their music.

After a week of having the album I still feel like it's a grower, but in the best ways; I do like it, but I feel like I haven't gotten to a "love it," type place, however Runaway is getting me there. I would feel bad about downloading music but I think the hundreds of dollars I spend in merch and shows makes up for it.

Runaway did absolutely nothing for me the first couple times I heard it. Then all of a sudden I was like, whow....this is really awesome. Conversation 16 is absolutely brilliant too. "I was afraid I'd eat your brains." God I love him.
