Oh well, another time Miike, another time... what??? i didnt catch that in the mock-schedule. fml indeed Yeah I got stupid bored today, and compared the last few years of set times with the way they released the bands, and the accompanying stages on the main sight... and Miike Snow fits on Wookie exactly into the same time that Broken Social Scene are supposed to play.... On top of that I feel like if you want a good spot for Broken Social Scene you're gonna have to watch Ok Go and may have to miss at least the last half of Edward Sharpe... Oh well I'm not going to complain much more than that, lol.

Miike Snow should end just before Broken Social Scene starts now that Deadmau5 is closing the Wookie instead of the dance tent. Plus you don't have to sit through Ok Go, because the crowd always is switching from the pit and ground area until the last two acts so you can easily get into the pit before hand. So it should go Edward Sharpe > Miike Snow > Broken Social Scene > National > etc

i just saw miike snow in philly thursday night. it was a really stellar show. 6 guys on stage (singer playing guitar/keys, drummer, guy on guitar/bass, 3 guys on mixers and xylophones and drum pads and stuff).
the lights and smoke machine was great in the small club, not sure how the visuals will be at the festival.
but the music was awesome. they don't just replicate the album. they jam, similar to animal collective live.

So it should go Edward Sharpe > Miike Snow > Broken Social Scene > National > etc yes, yes, yes, yes! This would be rad. I'm starting to think we all have the same taste in music. However, my mock schedule still has Miike Snow playing opposite Broken Social Scene, so we'll see how it plays out in the end. I'm definitely stoked for Edward Sharpe.

I get what doumak is saying. Miike Snow live is less like most other bands who play their songs, and more like Animal Collective, who play longer versions, remixes, or collaborations of their songs. doumak didn't mean "they suck live like Animal Collective does."

yeah i mean, i like animal collective live a lot. depends on the show and the crowd.. and the mood you are in.
miike snow was kick ass. i don't know how they'll be outside in the daytime. and against BSS is very hard for people. as i just saw miike i'll probably see BSS. but miike snow is definitely something you want to experience. they really perform the emotions behind the song, not just the song itself.
ex: miike snow opened with burial. 8-10 minute intro. verse 1. chorus 1. dance party outro for 6 minutes. done. crazy applause.

I feel Animal Collective would've had a better response if they just let 'em close out Wookie that night instead. Half the enjoyment of AC is their pretty little light show that I'm guessing either didn't happen/wasn't noticeable during the day. That was the only real thing that interested me when I saw them at Pitchfork in '08, though I did leave halfway through to catch an afterparty show a block away with King Khan and the Shrines and Jay Reatard.

Another update on the speculative spreadsheet. - Booka Shade is now opening the Wookie stage on Sunday (weird, but frees up the Cymbals / Caribou conflict, but now creates a Midlake / Cymbals conflict) - Aziz Ansari has to be the closing act in the comedy tent, which would create a Miike Snow / Aziz conflict. FML indeed Attachments:
