I'm starting to wonder why I never enjoyed Massive Attack in the past. Their music is absolutely spell-binding, should be an incredible show. I'm also surprised how many new favorite artists I've found just from dissecting the lineup. Really looking forward to Freelance Whales (debut album comes out next month), Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, and The Very Best (who, by the way, makes some of the happiest music I've ever heard).

Japandroids. My god, Japandroids. I caught about 10 minutes of their set at the Capitol Hill Block Party last year and for being only 2 guys they absolutely tore it up. Looking forward to catching a full set this time around.

stamper. I've seen em live a good 2-3 times at misc shows & festivals. They definitely put on a show worthy for the crowd to enjoy, even without knowing their music. Minus the Bear is my all time favorite band so I am looking forward to seeing them ... Although last sasquatch 3 years ago they didn't quite please me too much... Festivals they seem to 'sell out' & only play new songs off their record... Like at endfest, ONLY songs off of Planet of Ice. I just bought 'man on the moon' by Kid Cudi & am extremely impressed as well.

After seeing the lineup I finally got around to listening to a few bands that had been on my radar...really liking Nurses, Mumford & Sons and Avi Buffalo.
Also, not a new discovery for me, but may be to a lot of people - The Low Anthem are AMAZING. Timeless songs and good people. Pick up both of their albums, and don't miss them at the gorge!

Currently listening to all of the stuff that I downloaded...just in case the conflicts weren't bad enough already. Really enjoying: Camera Obscura - Nice and comforting pop music!, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Midlake, Mumford and Sons, Mayer Hawthorne and The Tallest Man on Earth. Not yet sure about Nurses and Passion Pit though...maybe they'll grow on me in time.

Passion Pit will definitely grow on you. I wasn't too impressed with them on the first listen, but after I listened to the whole album I was hooked. Nurses are brand new to me. Happy hunting, I'm having a fantastic time with some of these new bands!

I'm actually frightened to get into bands I don't know until I see the schedule. If I discover a band and it conflicts with a band I already planned to see, that's just more pain for me. Ignorance is bliss.

Agreed, the first time I heard the title track off "Charlie Darwin" I thought I had died and gone to heaven haha.

Ignorance is bliss. Pretty much, I didn't check out alot of the bands last yea before hand and now alot of them are favorites of mine. There are currently 38 acts I want to see this year and I know I'm going to run into plenty of schedule issues

More of a Re-Discovery, I forgot about Nada Surf, used to love them. Just checked out more of their new stuff (the 2000's). Not bad, wonder how they are live now?

I"m in the same boat, kinda got back into listening to Minus the Bear since the Lineup came out. Love these guys and have actually wanted to check them out live for years. Loved Planet of Ice, kinda like sweet jammy indie. Anyone seen a live show?

Loved Planet of Ice, kinda like sweet jammy indie. Anyone seen a live show? One of the benefits of living in Seattle, and one of the things I miss the most, was the opportunity to see Minus the Bear regularly. Dave Knudsen plays guitar for the band, and you might (should) know him as northwest royalty for his work in Botch. The man is an untouchable beast when it comes to the guitar; watching him is worth the price of admission alone. They sound great live, and have a pretty good sense of humor. From a Neumo's show some time ago: Showgoer: "What does your name mean?" Jake (singer): "What? I don't know what Jake means, man, I think it's American."

Ignorance is bliss. I hear you. I was just about to delve in deep with some Ween, but now I might not be staying for Monday, so I gotta stay away or I am going to be more pissed that I missed them. Thats why its great that Sasquatch comes out with their schedule 4 to 5 weeks early. Because you still have time to get into bands that are in your dead spots.

That month before Sasquatch, I'll be doing plenty of research.

a band that isn't playing the fest that I think would be a nice fit is Faunts.
so if you're looking for a band to listen to who won't result in a conflict...check them out.

I'll shamefully admit that I'm just now getting into Massive Attack since the lineup was released. What an incredible musical experience I've been missing out on.

So far I've checked out My Morning Jacket, LCD Soundsystem, Passion Pit, Band of Horses and Massive Attack. I really enjoy listening to them all... except for Massive Attack. The sound just doesn't do it for me. I find it so plain.
Next I think I'll download some Ween. I've checked out their MySpace and I got kind of weirded out by some of the music. Although, it seems like they have a strong following so I figure I should at least download one of their popular albums.

on the flipside, i just cant see myself getting into lcd soundsystem. i've heard their live show is stellar but i just don't like them on album. and ween really isn't my thing either, i enjoy a few songs but that's about it for me.

Bought the newest Kid Cudi cd & The XX. Definitely digging both of them. I was going to buy a camera obscura cd, but ehhh its download worthy. I have 8/9 Minus the Bear cds/eps so I am good there . Same with tons of P. the Man Then I need a good cd to get into MMJ, BSS & Dr. Dog
