I don't think we're a very good cross section of the average Sasquatch fan, most of of the people I'm going with are pretty pumped for Kid Cudi and MGMT, two acts that have not got much attention on this board (really the only time we talk about MGMT is to discuss how much they suck live)....but I think our reaction to the lineup is similar aka positive

Worst Sasquatch lineup ever. I'm excited to see MMJ, She and Him, Public Enemy, New Pornographers and Broken Social Scene. I'm not interested in a single band playing on Saturday and historically, that has always been my favorite day at sasquatch. Get the Red Hot Chili Peppers (hell they headlined the always terrible endfest a couple years ago, so don't pretend that is impossible). Good god, it took me days to get over how bad the lineup is. A large group of us had planned on going this year and now everybody bailed after this travesty. I'm sorry, but didn't you just say you were selling your tickets? I won't be selling them if the lineup improves...its a wait and see thing at this point. Festivals often announce acts after the initial lineup. I want to go, thats why I bought tix in advance, but it looks like I will have to sell. Here's to hoping that I don't. |

FYI-to follow the baseball analogy, a true deep lineup includes at least one heavy hitter, and this year sasquatch has none. Listen I've been reading this board for a while and interstateeight ya need to lighten up, it is a little embarassing to this board. People can have terrible taste in music, it's okay. It doesn't look okay when you see playground threats and lame name calling. Do I want the Chillis's to headline? Not at all, but I'm not disturbed by someone asking for it. So cool it, and you can start by just leaving things be, try not to post back to this.
Also I have to say the Pavement crack was pretty funny, as a long time fan I totally have reservation about why they are back now and should I be excited.

And why all the focus on the chili peppers? I mentioned many other bands and only mentioned the peppers because they would add greater diversity to the lineup, more accessibility, I've never seen them live before, Flea is perhaps the greatest bassist of all-time, it would justify the 270 dollars for the 3-day passes (sorry, that money isn't being passed on the Ween, its being pocketed by Live Nation) and they have a new album coming out. The stated porpoise of sasquatch is to cater to those in the NW who have DIVERSE musical tastes. I'm tired of hipster fucks who only listen to what is "in" that week with their bullshit crowd. It is the same mentality that MTV motherfuckers have. My favorite albums of 09 were by the Monsters of Folk and The Felice Brothers...if you guys don't like my music then fuck off. Punch me in the face, haha, I'd be glad to meet up with you if I end up not selling my tickets, that would be hilarious! Getting punched by a male pavement fan, hahahaha, what would be funnier? I better keep my thoughts about the new kids on the block to myself though given your affinity for 90's boy bands, you might want to shoot me instead of just punching me. |

If you think pavement has more musical talent than the Chili Peppers, you are flat out wrong and obviously do not play any instruments. Which is a more enjoyable band to you is a matter of opinion, but as far as musicianship, there is no comparison. Just because a band is popular doesn't mean they suck (Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and the list go on). Even read the description for pavement on the sasquatch website, it goes on and on about their boyish good looks. Sorry man, I'm into music, not pretty boy faces. And while we're on faces, go ahead and punch mine, I'm a big guy, it won't hurt nor will it change the fact that you are a childish asshole. |
