Coachella is only cheaper by virtue of only offering three day tickets. If they offered individual, it would skyrocket above Sasquatch again - and now I'm curious how early adopter prices break down (but not curious enough to go do research).
People are still saying Soundgarden is going to be added. WTF <.< - but for kicks, haters, does this improve the lineup for you enough that you no longer are complaining about headliners?

No unneeded reunions please! I just feel bad for Chris Cornell at this point, his voice is shot and he cops out at all the "cool" parts live and swore off a reunion and tried to be Justin Timberlake and failed and now is going back to Soundgarden. This band totally had its time and place, but unfortunately if they were to come back now they would be more so loved by the cock rock fans that love "Spoonman" from their local Hard Rock Station. Pavement, you know makes sense and their music (not sure about the Live band) is still very relevant in creating new music and approaches.

I knew you were fake poster!!! Give it up and hit the bricks. Plus I love when being offensive becomes a point of pride:) Plus, how do you tag youtube videos? HAHAHA A+ response Here's how youtube works, everyone: 1.) Pick your video. Let's say I want to appreciate the fine musicianship of Red Hot Chili Peppers, who do not care about image and are Legitimate Artists (R). So I pick the following video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Dql7EiMWE2.) Then, click the youtube tag. It will look like this: (youtube)(/youtube) EXCEPT instead of parentheses, there will be brackets. 3.) Then, take the part of the link that comes after watch?v= which, in this instance, is 06Dql7EiMWE. 4.) Then, put THAT between the youtube tags. It will look like this, but once again -- brackets instead of parentheses: (youtube)06Dql7EiMWE(/youtube) 5.) And then you get this: Most helpful post ever! Thanks.

EDIT: And in no way am I saying LiveNation/Ticketmaster doesn't have the budget that Goldenvoice does, just that they don't have the extra 40,000 people spending $500 a pop. That would be an extra 20 million to pay for three bigger headliners, and additional staff to accommodate those extra 40,000. And I'm not criticizing your musical taste either, just making fun of the Chili Peckers. You may not realize this but Sasquatch is actually more expensive than Coachella. A 3 day pass to Coachella with camping will cost you 370 dollars right now and the same set up at Sasquatch will cost about 400 dollars. Compare the money they are spending on acts and the the money sasquatch is spending on acts and try to tell me again that we aren't being ripped off by Live Nation. I actually left Coachella before Prince even took the stage. However, Sasquatch has been going for on for nine years and have never had any sort of problem "affording" real headliners, so what makes this year different? To go back to your analogy, it would be like if the Devil Rays had Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez for the last ten years but now out of nowhere just can't afford real players so they are going to play a bunch of quality minor leaguers. Logically, your argument that they can't afford big names doesn't follow based on the fact that sasquatch has had big names every single year except this year and it actually costs more to attend Sasquatch than Coachella. I think the headliners for Saturday and Monday this year are actually almost on par with other years of Sasquatch but they need to spend a couple bucks and get ONE actual headliner this year. I'm not saying they can or should add 3 huge names, just one to justify the ticket prices. I don't think that is unreasonable considering the 400 dollars cost just for tickets and camping. I've never seen the Chili Peckers play anywhere, so its not like im a superfan, just one of many possible bands they could get to fill up the lineup. I mean really, who wants to watch the Devil Rays play? Their lineup is lacking and boring. See my point? Sasquatch now costs more to attend than Coachella, but a Yankees game will cost a lot more than a Devil Rays game. I like how you overlooked the 40,000 difference in attendance, and the extra 20 million in revenue, and went straight to the point that Sasquatch currently costs about the same to attend as Coachella. No one here cares, we all bought early. Let me rephrase my point since you are not getting it. My Point: Get a couple superstars and surround them with garbage OR get a solid lineup top to bottom, with no easy outs. There is no doing both at Sasquatch. They are not going to spend the same amount as Coachella, because they won't get that extra 20 million in revenue that Coachella does. So it would be like the Devil Rays having Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez for ten years, surrounded by talentless hitters, then deciding it would be best to downgrade two spots in order to upgrade the other seven. Very important day to remember, April 29th. That was the day last year when Saturday and Sunday tickets sold out, by far the earliest sell out. If any day sells out before April 29th, your stance is going to look much worse. I'm done. You can have the last word.

I think maybe you didn't go to college and you have trouble understanding things you read. My point: This year isn't solid top to bottom. They are taking in more money this year than any other year, yet have spent far less for the fans. I never stated that sasquatch could or should spend as much as coachella. The point was sasquatch has spent the money in the past like coachella and is perfectly able to book actual headliners, but for the first time ever didn't. You are asserting that this is the first good sasquatch ever and i think that is wrong and stupid. The selling out date is also stupid. Many people buy tickets to events they think will sell out to sell them for a shitload of money and this has been and will continue to be the case with sasquatch regardless of the lineup until a year comes where it doesnt sell out and they cant rape late comers. The date it sells out doesn't mean shit, as sasquatch has been getting more and more national and international press each year and people now travel for the experience (don't tell me you haven't noticed an obscene amount of canadian flags around there lately). PS-whoever posted that chili peppers with madonna video is hilarious and should be properly commended. PSS-FUCK SOUNDGARDEN

Nevermind that there's no actual evidence that they've spent less money. Their headliners are *apparently* less expensive, I guess? Although considering no one knows what booking Massive Attack or Ween or whoever costs that's a hard case to make. Given who headlined last year, I can believe that the headliners are somewhat less expensive because they aren't "proven", but then again last year they had only one night of truly proven headliners, and I'd love to see figures that Ben Harper and Erika Byaduh or whoever headlined Monday costs more than say the Kings of Leon and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
But even so, the middle of the card is much stronger than most festival see. There are usually gaps in quality as you go down, but this lineup is very consistent.

If we're doing that, he forgot a comma in the midst of his run-on sentence. Also, his phrasing was very awkward in the first half of his run-on sentence. Try this: I think there's a possibility that you didn't go to college, and you have trouble understanding things you read. (Note: I go to college, but I didn't learn any of the above in any classes in college. This goes back to high school.) (Note also: No hard feelings were meant by any of the above, and I also realized I just used the often frowned-upon passive voice in the previous sentence. Nobody's perfect.)

Yeah, they spent a ton more on dance/electronic acts this year than last year. DeadMau5 (even though he was there last year is definitely a pretty penny this year), plus Simian Mobile Disco, Boyz Noize, Z-Trip, Booka Shade, A-trak, Neon Indian are a big jump up from last year where the big acts were DeadMau5, Crystal Castles, Tobacco, Girl Talk, and Chromeo DJ set. Plus they are going to add more comedy and a couple more big acts like last year. Remember when they added Mos Def, Crystal Castles, SSSS, Deerhoof, and Murder City Devils. I would expect more of the same this year. There will be plenty of good bands added this year to help fill out your (aka methodacting's) needs. Anyways, I agree that the headliners aren't huge names but they are bands that I like much more than last years mediocre but bigger name headliners. I mean we all complained that KOL was not headline material last year and then they ended up being headliners for ACL, Lolla last year and Bonnaroo this year. Maybe MMJ will be the next band to follow that trend. You never know. Sasquatch is the trend setter!

I think people are forgetting about Massive Attack when they say the headliners are inexpensive this year. They played Glastonbury as the top band on the second main stage in 08, and depending on how many of their guest artists show up could probably command a pretty penny.

what is also unknown (in addition to the amount spent this year vs. last) is if they dropped extra cash to any of the headliners for exclusive rights so they couldn't get booked at any other festivals this year. not sure if sasquatch even does this kind of thing, but it's a possibility. claims that we're being ripped off for paying more than coachella is pretty hilarious to me, i have no problem paying a little more to have a lineup that draws a less bro-infested crowd, and at a much better venue.

That's nothing, I've solved math problems where the solution was longer than some papers I've written.
