This is going to be my first time at Sasquatch and my plans are to stay off-site at a hotel and drive to and from the festival each day. Is this okay to do? Or is it like some other festivals in that I am required to stay the entire 3 days and cannot leave and return?

The festival is separate from the camping. You can enter each morning and leave each night without any problems.
Re-entry throughout the day, however, is a little trickier.

OK, that's all I was worried about. Thanks for answering my question and giving me a sigh of relief

Sent an e-mail to them here is what i got back...
We are working on a re-entry system that allow patrons to purchase each day. It will time sensitive allowing unlimited use up to a cut-off time. (were thinking around 7pm) Charge will be in the $5-$10 range. Must also show your valid festival ticket for re-entry. They will be made available at the main entrance.
I think this might help... but it its stupid to charge...

Thanks for posting and keep us posted.

it may be stupid to charge, but i would honestly probably pay. it's a valuable opportunity to get some crap you forgot, pound some beers, sneak a couple more in, whatever. good information and frankly a pretty good plan on their part, financially

Charging for re-entry? I seriously don't know enough languages to cover all the profanity...

Think about it this way you pay 5 to 10 dollars to go back and re engerize plus drink as much as want without paying 10 bucks for a beer, think of the money you will save in drinks alone plus you can re sneak some in so you don't have to pay the bull shit prices

That might be there only way to TRY to compensate for whatever loss in sales they think they might have with re-entry. One thing I was wondering about was whether or not you can drive off the gorge campground and then come back in throughout the weekend? I never needed to last year so I never wondered, but I thought I read somewhere that once you're in the campgrounds you can't leave and come back in...which would be really shitty.

I think the "official" policy is that once you are in you cant leave. BUT last year we had no problems leaving to stock up on supplies, have breakfast, whatever. They just took down the liscense plate # to make sure it was the same car coming back in.

I've been to the gorge 5 and have left the campground to go swimming or buy supplies 4 of those times. I've never had a problem, they usually just write your license plate number on your camping ticket so they know it's the same car coming back in.

Cool thanks! I want to get up there early on Friday, set up my tent, and then go down toward the gettys cove area for some swimming!

Leaving the campground might be much easier than the festival itself.
And yeah, I'd definitely be down with a reentry fee (one fee per day or multiple?) instead of 8 dollar burned fair food

I was always skeptical about leaving the campground and coming back in, but if this is true then I am so much more excited. I've really wanted to go into the river on one of those super hot mornings, and even grab some breakfast somewhere would be great. As far as re-rentry into the concert, it's a good idea but I'm trying to see a spot in the schedule where there isn't someone I want to watch perform. Maybe Sunday between Tallest Man on Earth and Tegan and Sara...although Girls could be a good show. Paying sucks, but it beats the option of not being able to leave at all.

This is a HUGE step forward if this is the case. I would totally pay to be able to go back to my campsite for abeer, a nap, whatever! Also with regards to taking the car out of the campsite, both times I've been to Sasquatch we've gone on beer and ice runs and there have never been any problems.
