I don't know, I think if Postal Service randomly shows up out of the blue despite saying no more, Ben Gibbard's wife/fiance (I forget which) might be just as likely, and might even fill in for Jenny Lewis. Zooey Deschanel, of She & Him, which adds to the general incestuous pool of MMJ/M. Ward/Conor Oberst/what have you. I think The Postal Service should stay in the Wishlist thread. I'd kill for it, but if Ben's going to make another appearance this year, I'd expect it to be in this order: 1.) With Jay Farrar, doing "One Fast Move..." 2.) With Death Cab, subheadlining -- or have they achieved headlining status? It sounds ridiculous, but they headlined at Bumbershoot a couple of years ago. 3.) Then maybe The Postal Service.

The year they headlined Bumbershoot they also subheadlined Sasquatch I believe, even if it was in support of the Cure. Death Cab is probably touring again later this year so I'd believe that before any of the rest. I don't see them doing a second date on the One Fast Move tour anywhere because of the nature of the material - if you saw the setlist for Seattle, I think there were no Death Cab or Son Volt covers (but I could be wrong), nor any of Gibbard's standbys for his solo work.

I'm also iffy on Phoenix. Few bands do every major American festival in one summer, and Phoenix is confirmed for Lolla, Bonnaroo, and Coachella already. This sucks, as Phoenix has a terrific live act. Like how Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, and Animal Collective were EVERYWHERE last year? There's certain bands that play every festival because it covers a bulk of touring or helps end touring before they head back to the studio. All three of those examples are American bands, so naturally they'd do American festivals. Phoenix is a French band doing a few foreign festivals, too. My problem isn't that bands don't do all the festivals, it's that foreign bands rarely spend their entire summer in the US just for festival gigs and US tours. And while The Arcade Fire's booking agent may be listing avails for the purpose of club bookings, I'm more concerned with what the agent ends up indicating by listing that date range than with what the agent means to indicate. My thought is that they're still working in the studio, and plan to be there beyond that original early-summer deadline they'd set for themselves. There's still a chance, I agree, but it's much slimmer than it appeared to be a few months ago.

Phoenix pretty much has to stay in the United States between Coachella and Bonnaroo, and have even indicated a few other American dates between April and June. They're even leaving America after Bonnaroo to head back to their home continent, I think, so it wouldn't be as if they're spending their whole summer here. Just April through June.

Last year I think Hockeys tour brought them to spokane, then paris, then to portland all within a week, it just depends on how they get booked and how much they will be paid to do a show overseas

Maybe Phoenix is hanging out in the Coppola vineyards during the summer, with a few scattered shows in between. Sounds like a fun summer to me.

And I would bet Local Natives is playing too. They're playing SXSW, Coachella, Bonaroo, and have a show in Portland on May 27th

The National would work great right before Pavement. They're doing a few shows together, and ever since someone said how cool it would be if The National played "So Far Around The Bend" that night it's something I've been hoping for. By the same logic, Broken Social Scene, who is also doing shows with Pavement, would make sense. I'd buy this as well. When bands are touring together, they do tend to get paired. They did it with REM, Modest Mouse and the National two years ago I believe. and NIN+JA last year, the Cure + 65daysofstatic the year before. very likely to see more pairs this year.

Thanks for that easily pastable link friend! But I was actually writing about the rumor that either My Morning Jacket, which is touring into May, or Monsters of Folk will be there. It seems the potential for the man thats in both of these bands, Jim James, to be in the gorge is quite high.

So I'll throw some newish suggestions on the pile (or at least ones we haven't talked about in the redone version of this thread) Broken Bells - I don't think they have tour dates announced, and James Mercer has a bit of a NW connection via the Shins, their album comes out in March. Temper Trap - someone brought them up, but misread their schedule (or it's changed). They'll be in Europe for a bit up til right before the weekend of Sasquatch. However they're set for Bonnaroo which means they'll be back stateside at some point anyway, and they seem to miss Seattle entirely on their incredibly meandering tour (which also seems to indicate they have no issue flying...Oregon to Massachusetts to Colorado in a week?) www.thetempertrap.net/Gigs/Dan Black - this one is a little out of the blue, but I have an inkling that something is up with him based on some stuff I've read online. Not at all concrete. Passion Pit - they are hugely popular here, apparently (I swear they sold out some show late last year didn't they?) and they have two dates in Oregon and one in Vancouver but skip Seattle entirely. Civil Twilight - The End is pushing them kind of hard out of nowhere, which generally happens when they're having some sort of event with a band (Billy Boy on Poison/Great Northern around Endfest, 30 Seconds to Mars for Deck the Hall ball, etc.) and their current tour doesn't seem to be bringing them anywhere nearby. Again this one is kind of out of nowhere. Lastly, Edward Sharpe - who I think has come up a few times actually, but he fits in well in terms of availability and the sort of band Sasquatch would cater to.

Sonic Youth would be amazing. I can't wait to see them at ATP NY.
I highly doubt Monsters of Folk will be there too.

Oh and one we all seem to really want - Arcade Fire. It's been brought up in this thread or headliners that their availability is now listed as August/September 2010. But back in October of 2009, it was TBA ( stereogum.com/archives/let_the_arcade_fire_2010_rumor_mill_begin_097331.html ) and in December it was new album, spring tour, with festivals ( www.billboard.com/news/arcade-fire-album-live-shows-coming-in-spring-1004050192.story#/news/arcade-fire-album-live-shows-coming-in-spring-1004050192.story ). We're not even into Spring yet, so I wonder if something's yet coming? I mean, the reason they may have a different message for their booking is because they are already booked as much as they want to be the first half of the year. And as far as "festivals" go, well Lolla isn't out yet, but they aren't on Bonnaroo or Coachella yet, and I imagine what they meant was earlier in the year, so probably not referring to Austin City Limits, Vegoose, or All Points West (although I wouldn't say those are out of the question, just that they weren't talking about playing them is all). Fingers crossed!

It seems unlikely since he's performing in Seattle at the end of March, but with his Vetiver connection could we possibly see an appearance from Devendra Banhart. Always a good festival act.
