Phoenix is now playing both Bonnaroo and Coachella. They also have no shows scheduled for the days between Bonnaroo and Coachella. This would mean that they're going to come to the United States from Europe in April, maybe fly back or just cold chill for two months doing nothing, and then do Bonnaroo and leave for the next show in Germany in late June. Phoenix update! More dates have been announced - none in Seattle OR Portland and none in May but they've got to stay in America for that month because of dates in late April and early June. I like the chances of them showing up at Sasquatch now.

phoenix was just in seattle last month. i'd be surprised if they aren't at sasquatch though, since they seem to be doing the whole festival circuit this year.

Yeah, Phoenix's show at the Showbox was pretty great, but with the size of a band they are and on their award success I'd say them showing back up is likely, especially if they tour the general vicinity, which they've also played in the last couple weeks or so.

Citay is a pretty cool group. Not sure I'd see them on their tour, but I'd definitely check them out at a festival. They have a new album coming out soon too. That link above has confirmed dates elsewhere for each of the three days of the fest, so they would have to play two shows one day for it to happen.

I don't know why they aren't just confirmed, because they have been everywhere in the US lately.

I know bands will hold off on announcing dates if a radiostation or event asks them to. And yeah, I'd say if they don't close wookie one night they'll be about middle of the day mainstage. I'm hoping for wookie, cuz mainstage in a real PITA

They will not play mid day on the mainstage because they have a clause for current festival season that states they won't play until dark. So I'm guessing they will have the YYY slot where it is the beginning of the darkness. They sadly are too big for the wookie even though it would be awesome to have them close the stage. When they played Monolith, they were upgraded to subheadliner when MSTRKRFT canceled at the last moment. They had the largest crowd of the weekend by far. And that was before they were semi popular like they are now.

How about Soundgarden skips Sasquatch and gets top billing at Bumbershoot with a double headliner slot. Soundgarden/Pearl Jam
Seems more fitting no?

If Phoenix is going to play a dark slot, and Vampire Weekend and MGMT are heavy rumors, that would make those three and Pavement four of the top six billed? Obviously it doesn't mean it will happen that way, but if it does, we're only looking at two spots left in the top six. I had to pop my collar just typing this. PS, if anyone is interested in posting their 50 lineup guesses on the blog, Dustin started the annual thread yesterday. My vote would be on andimac (winning, not being there that is).

MGMT closed out the second stage at All Points West last year. I can see them doing that again at Sasquatch, freeing up a top six spot.

Yeah, Vampire Weekend could close out the Wookie Stage or even be sub-sub headliner. I could easily see them being in the TVOTR or Decemberist slot, which would open up another "top six" slot. They would be better during the day anyways.

Vampire Weekend had the number one album in the country recently. It is safe to say they will be a subheadliner at worst, and could be a headliner (so could Phoenix). I don't listen to the radio enough to Dr. Garbanzoure out who is popular these days, so I don't really know.
I do know everyone was unhappy about Kings of Leon headlining last year, and they are now gigantic, and headlining every festival. MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix are very similar.

I'd have loved to see KoL headline and might just go to Bonnaroo to see them again. Vampire Weekend headlining/sub headlining/wherever depends on when they got booked - if it was before their hit album, it's very possible they won't be as high as some might think, for example. I believe they actually played before Phoenix at one of the radio station holiday shows, so there you go. chances of a soundgarden/pj bumbershoot combo are slim to none, I'm afraid, although that would be absolute gold sasquatchmusicfestival.blogspot.com is the blog address you want, I believe (I am being lazy and not quoting)

I disagree, I think the chance of a Pearl Jam/Soundgarden show at Bumbershoot is highly likely... Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they each headlined a day at Bumbershoot.
This is Bumbershoot's 40th anniversary, I think they are gonna go big and that could mean local acts... plus Soundgarden is a reunion and it's coming up on Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary. ;D
