Arcade fire is a Possibility, I don't care what booking agents say. Booking agents book tours, they are simply stating that arcade fire is not touring until the fall, but a one off headlining gig with a chance to preview some new material at a festival that they like to play at is a possibility. I personally don't think they will be there, but it is possible.

I have been telling my friends for a couple of years, that postal service will do a set at sasquatch, maybe this is the year. If they would do a one ofF show, it would be sasquatch, Death cab is not touring, he is from the PNW, he loves sasquatch and if Mrs. Gibbard is going to be there its probably a no brainer. That would probably mean Jenny lewis would be there too, doing a solo set.

pretty sure ben gibbard is still touring with jay farrar, i suggested quite a while back that they'd probably be at sasquatch. a postal service reunion would be awesome but this is very likely not the year it'll happen.

and i can't believe someone would even suggest nickelback. i don't think adam Snacks would do that to us. if it ever happened, i'd personally buy a $12 beer and get up to the front of the crowd to throw it in chad kroeger's face.

here's a rumor: Ben Gibbard & Jay Farrar played a few shows in january. they said they would be keeping their schedules open for the summer. i think there is a small chance of them playing... OR! THE POSTAL SERVICE! you can't rule it out completely.... -they played sasquatch in '04 -death cab's not touring right now. -give up has sold a shitload over the past few years and TPS has played only a couple shows. -this would make sasquatch reeeeally stand out. Alright here's my crazy, insane, unlikely thought... Monsters of Folk brings both My Morning Jacket and She & Him... which brings The Postal Service (because Zooey's married to Ben)... thus Zooey sings female vocals for the Postal Service. Ok this is all a load of poop but isn't that the point of speculation?

You guys know that The Postal Service is two people, right? We have no clue where Jimmy Tamborello is going to be festival weekend and I am pretty sure he's working on another project right now. They also said that they're not doing any more Postal Service stuff.
And I'll concede that Arcade Fire is looking a lot less likely at the moment in light of the new information.

I don't understand the rumor behind Rise Against, other than they are playing Bonarroo (a much "wider range" festival) and they don't have scheduled shows for Sasquatch dates... Haha it's mostly they're playing Bonnaroo, another festival in Ohio the weekend before, and pretty much festivals in Europe the rest of June (and maybe some festival in Mexico City too). The only reason they're even showing up so much in this thread is I get bored easily and no one was bringing up much I wanted to talk about so I decided to argue about them instead

I feel like we've run a marathon of "what about this band," but the finish line is near. Until then, I think we can muster up another six or seven "what about this band" posts before tomorrow night.
So I'll start. When I think about Pavement headlining, what band would make sense opening up for them? We've discussed MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and Phoenix as possible subheadliners, but talk about a different crowd. There would be a mass exodus to the dance tent prior to Pavement's appearance.
The band that keeps popping in my head is Sonic Youth, who have not been mentioned in ages on this board. They are playing shows in April, and doing ATP later this year, so they do pass the first criteria to be a rumor; they are alive and currently playing live music.

Sorry guys, I just bought my tickets yesterday and this is my first post here, but I'm not really bringing anything new to the table. I have seen the following names listed throughout this and many other forums, but does anyone have any conclusive evidence debunking any of these names?:
LCD Soundsystem Vampire Weekend MGMT The Dead Weather The National Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Local Natives Yacht Phoenix Passion Pit Dirty Projectors
That group, along with Arcade Fire and Pavement, would be well worth the price of admission in my mind.

On another note, is anyone going tomorrow night, who maybe uses twitter or texting or could post from the event? I imagine someone from earcandy will be there, but the more info you have coming in the better, right?

Well, I certainly think that's a strong possibility at least. They did headline the Block Party last year, but that isn't exactly what I'd call the pinnacle of festivals (don't get me wrong, it's great fun, but let's be realistic in terms of size). On another note, I don't think anyone's brought up Ben Harper recently although I know i've seen his name here - I'd say he's at best like 5 percent coming due to both playing last year and being DMB's opener (thank god, I'm just *not* into Ben Harper)
