Hey, anybody know if they let you bring in coolers, assuming they search them and there's nothing they don't allow in them?
It'd be nice to have cool water all day.

I'm not positive on the cooler, but I think if its a hard plastic one it won't be allowed in. And as for the brews they are 100% for sure not allowed in.

Yeah, I had a smaller soft cooler with frozen ice packs on its side that I could bring in. We put unopened bottles of water in the cooler and that was let in. If you are going to bring in beers, you are going to have to be more creative then just sticking them in a cooler.

@pyschicofficer Ok, the best way to get booze in is... make sure you go to a younger security person at the gate way (they don't search through the bags as much), wrap your bottles/cans in a blanket and put it at the very bottom of your bag and put a shit load of other stuff in your bag (often the more there is in the bag the less likely they will search through everything). My favorite way to get it in is by; take spray sunscreen bottles, empty it out into a different container, wash the bottle a few times to make sure you get rid of the taste (including the pump and stuff) then fill that up with what ever you want. Another way to do it is when you go to the grocery store and there is the water pump that you fill bottles up your self, well take some of the bottles (don't fill them just yet) and when you get home fill it with vodka and then seal the bottle (since you are allowed sealed water bottles there wont be a problem)
Hope this helps everyone

Yeah, if you are smart about it, it is pretty easy to get booze into the fest. We were able to get a flask of vodka and bourbon in each day last year. The only problem was we would mix it with sprite/coke which was $5 each anyways, so it was a little counterproductive. I hope that I can curb my drinking a little bit this year because it got pretty pricey if you wanted a cold beer. But it was so hot last year, that you almost always needed a cold beverage in your hand all the time. Except for those awful magaritas that were just the sweetest sourest waste of money ever. They made the $9 hot dogs seem like it was a good investment. I really hope that they upgrade the food options this year.

yeah the food is just mean.
as for a cooler, my friend had this small cooler with a strap on it...it was about 1' by 8" and 8" deep. It had some beer, ice, then water bottles. i opened it for them to see the water and they let me in. I wouldn't bank on getting even something small like that in though. They probably just didn't want to be dicks sending me back to the camp area.
as for beer in a blanket, it's even better if you can put them inside the blanket--like inside the cloth somehow. then if you pull it out to show them there's nothing rolled up in it, you're set. there are a million awesome ways...

take a water bottle, and use a pocket knife to pry off the cap with the seal (by slowly unscrewing the cap as you pry the seal), enjoy the water, and then refill with vodka while replacing the cap. based on the size of bottle, you can have a really messy day.
a couple cans of beer can fit into shoes as well, with black socks stuffed in on top. wear flipflops into the venue and pull your shoes out "for them" as they search the bag, they don't bat an eyelash.

I hated myself for a while after that...

my friend and i found that policy out the hard way in 2008, he loaded like 18 mountain dews in his backpack the first day and they made us dump them all out in a bin. glad those jerkoffs had plenty to drink all day while we had to be wallet raped if we wanted to stay hydrated.
