I'd like to gather people's opinions and thoughts on whether or not it's worth it to try to carry this forum forward now that Sasquatch is dead. For over a year now the idea has been floated about transitioning the board into a place for general music and music festival discussion - particularly aimed at the Pacific Northwest. Proboards will let me do a one-time URL change, so we can eventually pick a new name for the board and I of course will be happy to design a new layout and theme, IF there is enough interest from the remaining users here. So what do you guys think? Throw up a vote and let's hear some feedback.

I'm all for pressing forward into a bold new frontier. And who knows, rebranding as a more general PNW music forum may lead to an uptick in activity down the road. I'd hate to see this place join the ranks of the internet's ghost towns.

I am all for it and will contribute. Love of music binds us together, and the feelings you get when you have a chance to share the experience is what made Sasquatch what it was. I'm looking forward to continuing the experience at other places, including back at God's own theater. Pretty damn sappy, but I've grown to like this place. I check in every day.

I still come here every day even if I have nothing to add. I'll be needing to fill a Sasquatch sized hole come lineup release season, so hopefully there's something local that we can get excited for.

IMO, keep the Sasquatch sunset background. It's too pretty.

Not gonna lie, only 8 votes so far is a little discouraging. I'll let this thing run for a bit longer and see if we can at least get 20 or so interested.

I was getting ready to post a similar comment. Apathy is amoungst the worst of human behavior. Maybe we give the sasquatch board a noble death instead of letting it linger into internet oblivion. Load it into a viking boat, set it aflame, and push it out to sea.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I would like this board to continue as the Sasquatch board. We could be more active on the Non-Sasquatch Discussion side of things, but in the (perhaps unlikely) event Sasquatch does return in 2020 or beyond, we wouldn't be able to change the URL a second time.

Fabulous point, I hope this lives on.. we are losing a good deal with this festival concluding.. losing this board would add another level to the sadness. I appreciate all you guys have done. I have been quietly on these pages for years, really a special community. Let's give this a facelift and see where the future takes us..

This. Officially, Sasquatch is just on hiatus for 2019. It's not totally dead yet. Of course, when/if it comes back, it won't be the same without Snacks at the helm but I wouldn't go completely rebranding the forum just yet. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic (God knows it wouldn't be the first time I've been guilty of that around here), but I'm not ready to give up on Sasquatch completely yet.

Your optimism has mostly been on point to date, which is no small feat. My only concern with remaining the Sasquatch board is that even if non-Sasquatch discussion gets expanded, the new user draw may be a degree lower. The key in either event is to sustain an active userbase, and so a collective effort to make new topics and further new discussions will be required. TL;DR stop posting in/lock the shitposting threads and start more topics about artists/albums/events!

To that effect, a new subforum (maybe in music discussion) for New/Upcoming Releases might help facilitate this? As in, we could create new topics for discussion of each release as opposed to confining them to a single thread.

I understand the sentiment of not wanting to rebrand, but I promise you this board will be down to 1 or 2 semi-active users by winter if we decide to leave it alone. I'm certainly not going to go on an ego-trip and change it if there is objection though, so I guess we'll leave the topic alone for a while.
Sasquatch is not coming back though, y'all.

Hey ya hey ya hey ya hey ya, sorry I’ve been going through some pretty massive self loathing with my personal life, but I’m glad I came back and saw this. Rebranding, and change in general, can be incredibly scary. But what’s good for the goose right? We know what the heart of this forum is, and the only way a heart of a forum becomes compromised is if it grows beyond the grasp of the people that watch over it. As finite and cynical as Pea’s statement is, it’s simply true. The forum is slowly decaying and will continue unless there is some proactive movements.
