Modest Mouse Japansquatch was pretty fresh. Banned for missing Byrne. Some big dumb baby passed out apparently at 8 on Friday and left their leg hanging out the vehicle to get severely sunburnt. Missed basically everything after Vince Staples. That day after drinking half a bottle of vodka I had one of those frozen margaritas and a fishbowl primarily to myself. I remember the wedding clearly, I remember heading over to Gang of Youths, and I remember Vince Staples clearly. By the time Vince Staples set had finished the fishbowl had settled, and apparently I watched Tash Sultana (I remember Jungle) and next thing I remember was trying to get my phone to charge in my vehicle. The next thing I knew it was 11:30 at night.
I regret missing Byrne and Bon Iver so damn much.

If it makes you feel any better, you weren’t the only one.

One of my favourite parts of Sasquatch (or any festival really) is turning the phone off for 3+ days and doing my own thing. There's always next year though...

Honestly, the lack of Tank &The Bangas In this thread makes me a little sad. Did anyone else see them? I was there and I saw all of you guys up against the fence and I still don’t know why I didn’t come up and hang out.

Ya'll internet weirdos need to stop being so fucking timid, it's not like a huge group of old drunk strangers who've been doing this for years is something to be afraid of. Jeez.

Anderson .Paak put on a great show but I think I was just too exhausted to fully appreciate it as much as the other times I've seen him.

Man, what a fucking weekend. Out of the 7 Sasquatches I've attended, and against all odds, this was one of my absolute favorites. The weather was magnificent (save for the near-apocalyptic heat of Sunday afternoon), almost every band on the lineup exceeded my expectations, the crowds and fest-goers were in rowdy, friendly, zany, sexy top form, and I was with a sick crew. Friday was my 25th birthday and I couldn't have been in a better place.
Anyway:
1. Bon Iver - I LOVED how the old songs seemed to adopt characteristics of the latest album, and all in all this was an explosive, mesmerizing, and gorgeous performance that blew his 2012 headlining set out of the water. Thanks, Justin.
2. Explosions in the Sky - I was just standing there slackjawed. These guys are extremely good at what they do. Heavy, beautiful bliss.
3. David Byrne - I made a pessimistic bet with my friend that Vince Staples (who had drawn the biggest crowd on Friday by that point) would have a bigger turnout than Byrne, and I could not be happier that I was wrong. Amazing, funky, beautiful, and poignant. A true legend.
4. TV on the Radio - Everytime I see these guys it's at a festival, and every time I wish it could last twice as long. Still, that marvelous performance reminded me why they've been a reliable favorite band for me for a decade+.
5. Algiers - I'm not sure i really have words for this set, beyond the the frontman put more into this performance than most musicians put into their entire life's work. Props.
6. Jeff Rosenstock - Shout out to the girls who looked at me pissed off and horrified when I started groping my girlfriend after Jeff gave his anti-groping speech. Salutes to you, and to Jeffy who ripped open the fest for me with his sick sick set.
7. JLIN - Shout out to me and the dozen other people who were up there dancing for this wonderfully gifted producer. My buddy remarked that you know how good a set was at Sasquatch based on how few people were there, and this time it rang especially true. Next time put her on at a later time so the corn chips enthusiasts can discover her!!!
8. Modest Mouse - Speaking of cornchips...I was in a bit of a daze for this show but the setlist and the fireworks (plus some classic ramblin' from Mr. Brock) rocketed this set to one of my favorite MM sets.
9. The National - My single biggest regret this year was not going down for the pit during this set, because it truly was the National at their absolute best. Great setlist, Matt's ramblings blew Isaac's out the water, and more than enough redemption for their last, underwhelming headlining slot.
10. Japanese Breakfast - This girl is a rockstar and the crowd proved it. Keep your eyes on her, folks, she's going places.
Couldn't be happier with this weekend, and I can't fuckin wait to see what next year is like. Hope you all had a blast!!
