UM "Choir! Choir! Choir! is a Canadian musical choir, based in Toronto, Ontario. Instead of a traditional organizational model, the choir is structured as an open participation group where anybody who wants to attend an event is welcome to perform as part of the choir." Yes, I posted about them there other night (in the shitposting thread, so it's understandable if you missed it). Then Weenie pointed out that they are the same group that recently collaborated with David Byrne when they did David Bowie's Heroes. I don't know if we'll get lucky enough for another Byrne collab at Sasquatch, but we've gotten pretty damn lucky so far. Edit: you guys are fast.

I don't know if we'll get lucky enough for another Byrne collab at Sasquatch, but we've gotten pretty damn lucky so far. I think asking for collaborations of artists playing on the same day is a bit too much to ask. (Insert eye-roll at the thousands of missed opportunities that Sasquatch has blown.)

Your part was on the facebooks, mine was here. But the shitposting thread is a quagmire, so not finding things there is understandable too.

All I know is if there is an audience participation opportunity for Choir, Choir, Choir, I want to sing backup for David Byrne. Everything else is gravy.

Bonny gets an honorable mention since his set will probably be the same as Primavera, but it is a damn good set.

Obligatory pre-exploration disclaimer ... 1. Modest Mouse 2. Bon Iver 3. Anderson Paak and The National (haha ya right but call it a tie) 4. Slowdive 5. Shakey Graves 6. Pond 7. Grizzly Bear 8. Spoon 9. TV on the Radio 10. Thundercat
I know modest higher than most but stars never aligned for me to see them before and I’ll admit, David Byrne’s solo will hafta be part of my research.

There are really only two guys. The choir consists of volunteers from the audience. The guys teach them the song, then everyone performs it together. With or without David Byrne, it sounds pretty cool.

1. Slowdive 2. The National 3. Bon Iver 4. Spoon 5. Explosions in the Sky 6. Jeff Rosenstock 7. Wolf Parade 8. Grizzly Bear 9. Phoebe Bridgers 10. Modest Mouse
Runners Up: White Reaper, Thundercat and Pedro the Lion
Not sure where else to throw this, but I am very baffled by the high placement of Ray Lamontagne. I have no issue with him as a singer, but I am really not sure why he`s on the second line? Where will he fit into the schedule? Hopefully not before Bon Iver or The National.

If Sasquatch ever breaks their streak of ABSOLUTELY NO GUEST PERFORMERS, it will be at this show. I think (if I remember correctly) in 2010, Broken Social Scene brought out horn players from The National? Or vis a versa And 2013, the Mumfords came out for a song with Michael Kiwanuka and El-P came out for a song with Killer Mike (pre-RTJ). So it's not that guest appearances don't happen, it's just that they are rare and there have been far more missed opportunities to get anyone's hopes up. Like 2015 when 3/4 of Black Hippy all played on the same day and the only guests Kendrick had were a couple kids from the audience.

Off the top of my head the only one I can think of was El-P hopping on stage with Killer Mike. And no, not for the RTJ set.

With or without David Byrne, it sounds pretty cool. If Sasquatch ever breaks their streak of ABSOLUTELY NO VERY FEW GUEST PERFORMERS, it will be at this show.
