Let Bon Iver keep his obnoxious naming conventions. Do you even IDM? Half my music library looks like the track titles Bonny Bear ripped off. Yeah well if they're so intelligent why don't they just learn the alphabet

Curious if you have listened to Big Thief, Japanese Breakfast, and (Sandy) Alex G's albums from last year. They're all in my top 20 anticipated sets for sure.

Those are some to that have escaped most of my attention so far. I listened to Japanese Breakfast's last album once and remember it being pleasant, but not going back to it. They have all been on my list of needing to check out for a while, but I'm almost scared to discover any more music I love on here until the schedule comes out. There is no possible way I'm going to be able to see all of the acts a want to as it is.

Spoon, Pup, Tyler Childers, Curtis Harding, and Giants in the Trees could have made the list too, and still might.

I've seen them at least twice. Everything about them lines up perfectly for them to be a no-brainer favorite of mine, but for some reason they've never quite done it for me. I always give them a chance though, and unless something crucial conflicts with them I'll definitely be at their set.

Anyway, I highly recommend these albums (Big Thief - Capacity, Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds From Another Planet, and (Sandy) Alex G - Rocket) to anyone who hasn't heard them.

I like EitS but they’re basically Baby’s First Post-Rock and after you’ve seen them a few times you kind of start wishing they were Mogwai. The Wilderness was their first interesting record since 2006.

They are the first band I wanted to see more than once and probably the first band I will see 100 times. The 2017 shows were some of the best yet. Phoenomenal live music experience.

I’ve seen Explosions in the Sky 15 times and never wished it was Mogwai. I really wish I still loved EitS as much as you do, my dude. Last time I saw them was a while ago but I remember looking around at all these people being super into it and feeling nothing but boredom. Maybe my heart just knew it wanted black metal instead and it took me a while to realize it.

Most anticipated set #21:
Watching Nick learn to appreciate Explosions In The Sky the way Burrito learned to appreciate LCD Soundsystem last year.

Most anticipated set #21: Watching Nick learn to appreciate Explosions In The Sky the way Burrito learned to appreciate LCD Soundsystem last year. If it didn’t happen the last time they played at the Gorge at Sunset, it ain’t gonna happen. And that was back in 2009 when I was into them.
