I still listen to When the Kite String Pops several times a year. It's an essential album.

John Wayne Gacy self portrait. Their second album didn't do much for me, but that first one was a fucking classic. When Dead Boy and The Elephant Men played Sasquatch (2007?), I saw Dax Riggs at the Easy Street booth. I tried to tell him that Acid Bath was one of my all time favorites, but he was obviously high as hell and just stared at me like he didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I shook his hand and he had by far the softest hands I've ever felt on a man. Moral of the history: heroin might keep your skin soft, but it also rots your brain. Don't do heroin, kids.

Honestly some of my favorite Acid Bath tracks are on Paegan Terrorism Tactics. Bleed Me An Ocean, Graveflower and Venus Blue are awesome. Dax has such a unique voice. It's amazing that there isn't more of it on YouTube.

Dax Riggs played Lollapalooza that same year and he was a fucking mess. Halfway through their set he had to stop playing his guitar because was "too hung over to sing AND play guitar". It was still pretty amazing though.

Ya, it has its moments, but as a whole, it's not as good in my opinion. Every single song on Kite String is an absolute jam and there aren't many albums I can say that about. The guitars on Pagan Terrorism Acts sound more muddled to me and lack some of that squealing Louisiana feel that the first record had. To be fair though, I may not have given it a fair shake since I liked the first one so much. I do remember listening to it a few years ago and cursing myself for writing it off all those years ago. It definitely is better than I had given it credit for when I first heard it.

I did skim the list and end it with "to name a few," in my defense.
