Have any of you guys been before or ever been interested in going? I'm opting for this to be my "other festival" this year, and with the Seattle/KEXP connections, and now that we might have a mini Icelandic Festival at Sas it feels so relevant. I wanted to throw this one out there. For anyone not familiar, it's in November in Reykjavik, and the first lineup announcement should also be pretty soon.
I already have a plane ticket and festival pass (along with another die-hard squatcher) and last I check that total cost was $711 from Sea-Tac. Anyway, I have an interest in discussing this festival with Sasquatch people. SO PLEASE DISCUSS IT WITH ME while we wait for information's next visit.

Always wanted to go to this! Almost made it out when I worked for KEXP, that was the year Kraftwerk was playing, but ended up having school obligations. Still on my bucket list.

Oh man that would have been so sick to go with KEXP. This is why no one should go to school. There are a lot of ways to acquire $711... Thank you for participating in this discussion!

Yeah it was a bummer, but they sent me to Sasquatch/Bumbershoot/Block Party that year so I probably shouldn't complain.

Just fer yer i, everything in Iceland is craaaaaaaazy expensive! Pack food if you have the baggage allowance and be prepared for all booze to be double the (canadian) price. So like, quintuple the American price.

Gonna have to hit that duty free booze shelf at the airport FOR SURE.

The grocery stores (Bonus! Look for the drunken pig!) are "cheap" in that they're the cheapest place to get food, but everything is basically double the price that it would be in Canada/America.

I was in Oslo recently and you literally can't even get a cheap dinner for less than $20. I hear that Iceland is crazier.

As for music festivals, this one has never been on my radar but I've always wanted to go to the G! Festival in the Faroe Islands and see Eivør Pálsdóttir (basically a Faroese goddess)
