I'm liking the new King Gizzard but I'm going to wait and see how it stacks up against the other 4(!) albums they have planned for this year.

Peter Silberman - Impermanence It's actually good? I suppose I should give it a proper chance then. His solo stuff has come off as a little meandering to me, but I'll give it another try.

It's... depressing... and quiet... and probably sort of self-pitying drivel to some people, but isn't that why we all love the Antlers anyway? Can we have a new Antlers record now?

Emmure - Look at Yourself Interesting. Elitest me says judge pea, you can't listen to Emmure, the internet says. Another part of me says why not give it a listen, I listened to some of the new Suicide Silence, and it can't be worse than that.

Another part of me says why not give it a listen, I listened to some of the new Suicide Silence, and it can't be worse than that. Haha I was wondering who would be the person to call me out on that. I've historically hated on the deathcore scene as much as the next old school metalhead, but something about this album in particular really speaks to my lowest common denominator appreciating side that loves a nasty breakdown. I stepped away from metal for a few years when Emmure starting blowing up and pissing people off, so I wasn't really around to form an opinion on them until now. I don't really like most of their earlier work that I've heard, but this new one is fun as fuck to blast really loud.

I listened to it once this morning, and I can definitely say there is worse Deathcore. I asked my buddy about the rap elements, because he is into that scene, and he said that is more reflective of earlier Emmure. Then I got the story about how the vocalist is kind of douchie, so he either fires members of the band or they quit. Deathcore definitely refuses to die.

Can I get another added?
Khalid - American Teen
Definitely recommend this for anyone that likes Sampha's project or pop/r&b like Frank Ocean. He had a beautiful voice, and I love his cadence on a lot of the tracks.

He has such an I-can't-believe-this-is-real humility about him made even more endearing by the fact that he's so obviously talented.

My only gripe is that this album lacks some maturity, but give him a few years and I think he will be doing some major things musically.
