Pavement played one of the worst sets Sasquatch has ever seen. Hahaha really? I don't doubt it. They were notoriously bad I guess. My only frame of reference seeing Pavement members was seeing Malkmus and the Jicks in Boston in 2011. They pretty much just played the new album and 2 deep solo cuts + a cover of "Brandi You're A Fine Girl" - which actually may have been the highlight haha.

Pavement played one of the worst sets Sasquatch has ever seen. Nah, that was great. One of my favorite Sasquatch moments.

The easy answer to this question is M83, Alabama Shakes, and Sufjan. I can personally vouch that all will be amazing, but they seem to be pretty well covered, so I'm gonna dig a little deeper.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- I have seen these guys only once, at Barboza, and they fucking tore that place up. It was loud and chaotic (in a good way), they crammed like 8 people on that tiny stage, including two drummers. There is one guy in the band who plays something different on pretty much every song, flute, harmonica (with shitloads of reverb), keys, yelling. The best songs from that set were the ones off of In Your Mind Fuzz, but I'm stoked to check out their new stuff. I'm hoping they end up mid-day on the bigfoot stage, my greatest fear is that they end up playing opposite Sufjan or one of the other unmissable artists on Monday (there are a lot). When I saw their tour schedule last fall and it was clear they'd be at squatch, I bought a ticket immediately (tbh I was gonna do that anyways, but it really sealed the deal for me).
Mac DeMarco- I saw MDM at bumbershoot 2014, and it was one of the best things I've seen at that festival in recent years. His recorded material is a little more laid back than the live show, it's much more lively and danceable in the live setting. His band has that loose vibe where it seems like they're all having fun, they are cracking jokes and doing weird shit up there, at one point in the set Mac lit a cigarette while crowdsurfing. It's definitely the type of thing that needs to be experienced live to fully appreciate, and is pretty much a guaranteed good time. I'm kinda hoping he gets a late night bigfoot set, but it'll be awesome wherever and whenever it happens.
Yeasayer- I've seen these guys a bunch of times, including at Neumos back in the day, Neptune on their last tour, and S! 2011 when they were the first band of the day on the mainstage, and I only caught the last song because the lines were moving slow. I'm excited they are on the lineup, this is the type of booking that makes Sasquatch! unique, they are not playing a ton of festivals and have new music coming out, I am anticipating a good show. Their sound is constantly evolving from album to album, so you never quite know what you're going get. The band is three guys but they may have additional touring musicians. Their songs don't always come across immaculately in a live setting, but I like that element of rawness, and they have always put on a good show. They usually have trippy visuals, which makes me want them to have the late night set on the bigfoot, but I'm assuming that will be Chet Faker this year and Yeasayer will likely be on the mainstage in the daylight, which would also be fun. I will be getting my groove on.

I loved that Pavement set, and I don't even like Pavement. That set was crazy. The mushrooms were really kicking in and I thought they were going to straight up break up on stage. It was like a drama with a killer soundtrack. I LOVED IT. EDIT: I loved how they walked out and were like "thanks a bunch for squeezing us in between LCD Soundsystem and Massive Attack.." That was a shitty placement for them haha

I loved that Pavement set, and I don't even like Pavement. Same here. Or rather, I was and still am totally unfamiliar with Pavement. But I enjoyed it.

I'm just bitter because they didn't play Half a Canyon.

I'm pretty sure I only caught one song, but it was one of my favs (Sunrise).

So incredible how fast time passes.

1. Big Grams Saw them play the one winter show Red Rocks put on (Winter On The Rocks) . They are super fun and besides their original stuff they also do some awesome mashups of Phantogram and Outkast (I think I recall Mrs Jackson/ Mouthful of Diamonds.) My buddy does their light production and so I got hooked up with backstage... Hopefully he can do that again this year 2. Florence and The Machine Saw her at Voodoo fest in New Orleans on Halloween and she played a chilling set in zombie makeup . I didn't think I would be that crazy about her set but it was great! Worth standing in about a foot of mud (the last day of the festival was cancelled because the flooding was so bad ) 3. Purity Ring I think this will be the 5th time I've seen them. 3 times at First Avenue nightclub here in Minneapolis . Once at Summerset Music Festival which is right outside of MSP. Regardless- they put on a great show; they created their own instrument which is basically a bunch of orbs and glow and make percussion noises when they are touched. Who knows if they will bring them on tour but it seems pretty portable . Wasn't a huge fan of their newer album but they still play jams from their first so I will be back
